Stealth Unionization

On Tuesday, two Michigan Senate committees addressed the growing controversy of the stealth unionization of the state's home day care owners and providers, as well as the mechanism by which it happened. One committee took the legislative route, and the other asked probing questions of a Department of Human Services representative.

On a 2 to 1 vote, the Senate Committee on Families and Human Services approved Senate Bills 1173 and 1179 to effectively see to it that private-sector business owners cannot be categorized as government employees and unionized. These measures now head to the full Senate for consideration.

From the same site because its important to know the history of this mess. Hopefully others will take a long hard look at their own state legislatures.

Nobody working a government job should be permitted to unionize. It’s a conflict of interest.

These were home day care providers, little more than certified baby sitters. These business OWNERS were forced to join a union and pony up their tribute.

I used to live next door to Walraven when I was a kid. Daddy was a psychologist who was Michigan’s leading expert on the psychology of breastfeeding.

It’s the same thing they did in CA with the home aid workers and the SEIU. MI is screwed already anyway. I’m a proud member of the diaspora Comrade Granholm caused.

Her father is a psychology proffesor at Jackson Community college these days.

I don’t know what happened to Mike Jr.

We shared a school bus stop with the Walravens and the Baptist minister’s sons.
