I wonder if Sarah Palin knows that J and R Cigars on 45th and 5th in Manhattan is selling toilet paper with her face on it for 2.99 a roll. I believe illegal profiteering should be able to trump the 1st amendment here.

As a believer in the free market I say let them sell it.
As a fan of Palin I won’t be buying anything from any store that sells such a product.

As a retail establishment, they should be happy to have customers of any and all political persuasions, especially in this crappy economy.

It's easy to express your discontent -- don't buy anything at the store. Let the free market take care of them.
The TP is not illegal. I do believe making money off her image without her permission is.

I suspect that sort of usage is considered "satire" or something, and for all I know, "fair use" may cover it, though that's unlikely.
I'm sure if Palin learns about it, she'll rise above it. It's beneath her dignity to even acknowledge it, though I suspect if she decided to, she could crack a helluva good joke about it. I love her sense of humor and style!

Actually, I was typying my post when the previous person posted their comments (they posted 3 seconds before I did).
Still, one has to be careful in business. I live in Maine, and in December, 2000, I was in a town three hours from where I live. This was during the Florida re-count. I was going to visit a store that sold antique books. I was going to look for myself, as well as for Christmas gifts. As I approached the book store, I noticed all the signs in the window.....”Bush, you will ALWAYS be Bush League!” “Count All The Votes!” There were a number of signs posted all over the windows like this, bashing Republicans, bashing Bush, etc. Moonbat city. I stopped dead in my tracks, looked at the signs in disgust, and went back to the car. The book store owner didn’t get my business.
