Looking for a Bit of Help from the FR Community for an Agitprop Youtube project.
Youtube Video Are You Paying Attention Now? ^ | Saturday May 22nd 2010 | Me (Mad Dawgg)

Posted on 05/22/2010 3:38:19 PM PDT by Mad Dawgg

I have an idea for a little Agitprop project that has been bouncing around in my head since I uploaded the "Are You Paying Attention Now?" video.

(Agitprop Definition: propaganda; especially : political propaganda promulgated chiefly in literature, drama, music, or art)

Here is the "Are you Paying Attention Now?" video on youtube in cased you missed it: "Are you Paying Attention Now?"

I want to make another video based on the same theme but using multiple incidents. The idea would be to make a video with original music that shows an escalation in the Obama admin's assault on individual freedoms and his continual expansion of the Government and the truly bizarre incidents that have no explanation. As well as focus on the Democrat Congress's part in this mess. As each incident is showm we do a quickfade to black screen with the words "Are You Paying Attention Now?" centered on the black screen.

The Help I am looking for is from you folks who are on the front lines of the fight and know the best incidents to use. The Best incidents can hopefully be illustrated with video and sound bites though still pics will be useful as well.

I am not looking for original content from FReepers being there is plenty on the net that I can use under fair use (at least as far as youtube and fair use go) this video is not going to be for sale or anything like that, its just gonna put up on youtube and any of the other Video sites I can find in an effort to take it viral.

So far incidents I have in mind are:

1. The attack on Gladney at the Town Hall meeting Gladney Beating

2. The flag@whitehouse.gov email incident: Facts are Stubborn Things

3. The Obamacare provision forcing people to buy Health Insurance: ObamaCare vs. the Constitution

4. The Wasteful Stimulus plan and its failure to create Jobs: Tax Dollars Flushed Away ( John Stossel )

5. Scare Force One: Someone needs fired! #tcot MUST SEE VIDEO:

Any ideas you have about which incidents to choose will be greatly appreciated. Just post any you have or if you have any questions as well.

Thanks in advance.

I am thinking of filching the "Remember Remember the 5th Of November" line from V for Vendetta at the end (changing the date of course) as a call to vote ALL the Bums out!

By calling it “agitprop” you are labeling your own planned work “lies and propaganda”.

Agitprop is the Dems’ approach.

What is needed is to expose Obama’s lies.

You can start with his promises not to raise taxes and all the taxes he is about to raise with his so-called healthcare reform, financial reform and cap and trade bills.

Or with his lies about focusing on jobs, when the stimulus didn’t create any and instead of job creatiion, he pushed through the government takeover of healthcare the American people opposed and still do.

"By calling it “agitprop” you are labeling your own planned work “lies and propaganda”."

Agitprop definition: propaganda; especially : political propaganda promulgated chiefly in literature, drama, music, or art)

Propagands Definition:

2 : the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person.
3 : ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause; also : a public action having such an effect.

Neither definition has anything in it about lies.

So I am not labeling my work as lies but I am labeling it as Propaganda.

In real life “agitprop” and “propaganda” have STRONG negative connotations, but you do as you will, don’t listen to the voice of reason...

http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Propaganda

“In a narrower and more common use of the term, propaganda refers to deliberately false or misleading information that supports a political cause or the interests of those in power. The propagandist seeks to change the way people understand an issue or situation, for the purpose of changing their actions and expectations in ways that are desirable to the interest group. In this sense, propaganda serves as a corollary to censorship, in which the same purpose is achieved, not by filling people’s heads with false information, but by preventing people from knowing true information. What sets propaganda apart from other forms of advocacy is the willingness of the propagandist to change people’s understanding through deception and confusion, rather than persuasion and understanding. The leaders of an organization know the information to be one sided or untrue but this may not be true for the rank and file members who help to disseminate the propaganda.”

We will not win by rationally explaining the situation to the average person. They do not read, or dig for facts like you or I. Propaganda is effective because of ignorance. If we do not propagandize, we lose. Fact.

"In a narrower and more common use of the term"

I notice you left out ALL the other parts of the definition.

But logic tell us that even though my project will not be lies it will still be Propaganda (according to the rest of the definition in the source you presented)and trying to deny such is no way to start.

If the left tries to denounce the project as such once the video goes live I in no way wish to have to retract an untrue statement. So stating up front the project is propagand and agitprop takes that line of attack away.

Post of the Year Nominee!

The last election was won by using the Internet (Blogs, email blasts, Youtube Videos and Twitter/Facebook) If we wish to throw the bums out we must use these tools en masse and effectively!

Let me add, also, that propaganda does not necessarily mean lies packaged as fact. That is often what it is, but there is also the other text book definition which is just simply packaged, catchy info.

There is film of Union Thugs passing in front of protestors punching and shoving them...until they reach a man openly carrying. I think this happened in New Hampshire.

The background could have voices of leftist reporters and Demoncrats describing the Tea Party people as anti-American and dangerous racists with the film clip scene of Obama’s swat team dressed in black - boots and all - lining up across the street from protesting grandmas sitting in their lawn chairs with their little flags and silly hats.

Was it on youtube? Or maybe another video site?

I wish I could remember for you. But I can tell you it occured when the patriots showed up with open carry weapons right after obummer called for union thugs to go after the tea parties. I think it happened in New Hampshire.

There was a video of union thugs passing in front of tea party protestors who were in a line along a street. Union thugs were shoving people and yelling at them in their faces when suddenly they stopped, backed off and disappeared. They reached an open carry man and realized they were dead meat if they threatened him.

In the video, the man with the gun was not shown. Only the Union thugs’ reaction to the reality of the situation. They were full of themselves and suddenly afraid enough to stop what they were doing in bullying and run away.

I have a visual of what happened here: it's like what happens after you drop a bit of detergent into a pot of water that has oil floating on top.

Obama saying that the beheading of Daniel Pearl “captured the imagination of the world” in front of Pearl’s young son might do it.

That one disturbs people who usually don’t pay any attention at all.

"I wish I could remember for you"

I've used all the keywords I can think of from your description of the events (varying them using different groups and such) no luck yet. But I will keep looking.

If you find anymore info please post it here, and thanks much!
