Reporting from the bosom of Liberal Land (NOVA/DC):

The “Bush’s fault” appetite is insatiable here. BP was Bush’s fault, as was Al and Tipper Gore’s separation; Brad Pitt’s and Angelina Jolie’s breakup; Katrina (the response *AND* the actual hurricane!); the outing of a deep undercover CIA agent who covertly drove her ostentatious car from her home to the Langley parking lot every day; no WMD; September 11; the Palm Beach County ballot design (Yeah, Pat!); fraudulent Diebold machine counts (Yeah, Pat!); global warming....

There’s more Bush-screwed-up-everything, but I’m tired.

BP is to blame for the disaster in the Gulf.

I didn’t realize just how much untill I read this long http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2010/05/16/60minutes/main6490197.shtml?tag=contentMain;contentBody article.

snip: There are plenty of accusations to go around that BP pressed for speed, Halliburton’s cement plugs failed, and Transocean damaged the blowout preventer.

Through all the red flags, they pressed ahead. It was, after all, the Deepwater Horizon, the world record holder, celebrated as among the safest in the fleet.

“Men lost their lives,” survivor Mike Williams told Pelley. “I don’t know how else to say it. All the things that they told us could never happen happened.”
