Don't Let Me Down, Paul
StellaPundit.blogspot.com ^ | June 3, 2010 | Stella Paul

I've been madly in love with Paul McCartney ever since I was a little girl. He's the only creative hero who's stood the test of time for me, because as his music grew less magical, his personal life grew more so. Alone in the rock firmament, he adored his wife, raised healthy uncrazy kids, picked himself up after the public embarrassment of a disastrous marriage and energetically recommitted himself to music, his fans and new love. What a man!

And now for the first time in all these decades, he's made me quite sick. A man who's commanded a megaphone to the world since 1963 telling us lowly peons to back off and shut up?

The big deal around here is that McCartney will be the first concert at the new Consol Energy Arena (home of the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team) currently under construction.

I’ll save my money.

He is an entertainer part of the coalition helping to elect the imbecile presently allowed to head the executive branch of the American government.

He's the only creative hero who's stood the test of time

Regardless of whether you like the Beatles or not, you have to admit that after Paul and John stopped collaborating on music, Paul's music took a decided turn towards bubble-gum-pop-rock-crap.

One guy who has been around as long as the Beatles, never received the same level of popularity, but whose music is far more creative and versatile (compared to post Beatles Paul), running the gamut from soft/mello jazz to Rock to R&B to Blues and whose music has improved with time (though his last three albums have been disappointing). Is this guy:

Start with Poetic Champions Compose, play it as back ground music during dinner. The after a few drinks and you want something more upbeat and catchy, try this one:

Paul McCartney............. fugetaboutit

You would think that McCartney, at his age would know a thing or two about the real world, however since he lives in an “ivory tower” due to all the money he has earned on the backs of his fans. One would think he would not bite the hand that has fed it.

The boy Prez just seems to be more and more starry eyed as he picks and chooses his trips around the world, and he can now meet all the celebrities that his little heart desires because he is now the boy Prez.

The boy should go back home to his Kenya, and as for Sir Paul he can go back to England and stay there. Lennon was a much better music writer in any-case.

McCartney is a typical confused lousy singer and a fool. Never liked him as a singer.

I recall Mark Steyn on Rush’s show saying, “’Simply having a wonderful Christmas time.’ Imagine a grown man writing that.” Hahaha. I prefer Ringo meself.
