On February 18, 2010, I wrote a post titled Progressive Bloggers In The Wizard of Oz, about a trip by several "progressive" bloggers to meet at The White House with Jared Bernstein, Chief Economist to Vice President Joe Biden.
The post carried a photo of serious-looking faces reflecting what I believed -- tongue in cheek -- was "the moment they realized that they were not going to get to meet with the 'chief economist to President Barack Obama.'"
Boy, was I wrong. It was more like a reunion. Of Journolistas.
The "Chief Economist to Vice President Joe Biden" was none other than Journalista Jared Bernstein, who -- thanks to a post at Volokh Conspiracy (via Instapundit)-- I just learned was an adviser to the Obama campaign in 2008 when he was active on the Journolist:
In attendance for the meeting at the White House were fellow Journolistas Matthew Yglesias (Think Progress), Tim Fernholz (American Prospect) and Chris Hayes (The Nation). One of the other bloggers in attendance was Oliver Willis, whose name has not surfaced on the Journolist, but who works for Media Matters, so he is practically an Honorary Journolista.One question that has arisen in the last week is how closely JournoList members, not only discussed how to shape the news to advance the fortunes of Barack Obama, but coordinated with the Obama campaign. Jared Bernstein’s position as an unpaid adviser and surrogate shows that there was at least one direct link between JournoList and the Obama campaign.
So... An Obama campaign operative interacted on the Journolist with sympathetic media types in the run-up to the election, and then rewarded favored Journolistas with a visit to the White House.

Vice President-elect Biden announces Chief Economist and Economic Policy Advisor

These 400 editors strung across the nation operate a propaganda machine that requires exposure and sanction in our federal courts for fraud and violation of the publics 1st amendment right of free speech. They now see their role of censorship is even more crucial, with the striking of McCain Feingold. They are ramping up for the election this fall.

I'm with Jane Galt on this one: Not everything the Nazis touched was bad. Hitler was a vegetarian. Volkswagen is a perfectly good car company. Universal health care is a perfectly good idea. Indeed, the Nazis actually did a pretty good job increasing economic growth and improving standards of living (they were, many think, the first Keynesians, adopting the strategy even before Keynes had come up with it), pushing Germany out of a depression and back into expansion.
Yea... never mind that much of the Nazi's economic expansion was due to their massive war build up set off by a megalomaniacal ambition to conquer the world. But, hey, at least Ezra finds a sentence to harshly condemn the Nazi's for their horrifying atrocities:
Unfortunately, they also set out to conquer Europe and exterminate the Jews. People shouldn't do that.
Ezra's correct, people shouldn't do that just like they shouldn't marginalize the deaths of millions in order to try, and fail, to make political points.
They operate nder a veil of secrecy because they plan to be more totalitarian, its not willy nilly in the least. And America is about to be gob smacked,sucker punched by lies and propaganda of the ost vile order prior to the November election. .I hope the people will not be cowed.
Breitbart seems to be the only journalist on the right who knows how to proceed. Even Rush seems to have his hands tied and only will go so far in defining the enemy that Eara Klein represents, creating the necessaryy ignorance for Obama's success. If Klein were arrested and thrown in jail today, I would dance in celebration.He is a fascist of the first degree.
