They could be educated a lot better in the same number of hours but that would upset the union. Don’t you know it takes 12 years of union teachers to get a kid to read on a 7th grade level?

Most of the teachers at the high school I work at are gone two minutes after the bell rings. You won’t find too many who’ll go for this. Now if there’s a second shift...

Exactly, turn any job over to a non-union worker, and it will get done better, faster and cheaper.

1 to educate the kid, 3 to watch. Union Rules.

Sorry, Unions were great 50 years ago, but no government employee should be allowed to unionize. Never.

Heck, lets unionize the military. I’m sure the dems would be for that as well, and I’m sure a few of them have suggested it.

Get the unions out of my government.

In elementary school through grade 4 the school year ran from Labor Day to Memorial Day and my school day was from 0900 to 1500 hrs. I had an hour for lunch and 2 15 minute recesses. I learned more of the 3Rs etc, especially history, than any kid gets in public school now by ninth grade. I learned to spell. I learned times tables and adds and grammar and geography and science and spelling and penmanship and was reading “ninth grade” books in third grade as were all my classmates. Most of that stuff they don’t even try in public school now. Anyone who sends his kids to public school does not care about his children-no excuses- it is so.
