They always write it that way, but I noted particularly that when it was transliterated into Hebrew for those banners that the 0bama campaign set up at the Kotel of all places, that name was written "Baraq".
I would have liked to see THAT on a campaign poster over here.
I think Barack is a pretty weird name, a lot wierder than trig. It sounds like a constipated parrot.
How long did Katie practice that skeptical, condescending look before the Palin interview? With B.O., looks she she’s on a speed date. BTW, Katie, since it’s okay to make fun of names, where on earth do the names Couric and Monahan (dead husband’s last name)come from?
I don’t watch “Morning Joe”. The man is a certifiable mental case. His enablers are scum.
“...Hate to say it, but didn’t think it was that bad.”
I thought so too at first. But after reading the accompanying article the point they are making is that Katie and CBS (and all other media) diminished Sarah Palin’s significant accomplishments by reducing her to a moose-eating beauty queen who is anti-abortion and named her kids weird names. They completly overlooked her career accomplishments and immediately turned her into a cartoon figure. Unintentionally, of course. wink wink
I don’t know if I’d call it ‘explosive’, but it’s obvious that perky Katie had already made up her mind about Sarah Palin, and her opinion wasn’t favorable. Such is life in our left-wing media.
I'm guessing the father sang in a '50s doo-wop band.
The Mc Cain camp, except for Sarah was doing everything they could, except for taking out an ad saying”Vote for obama” to ensure the election of obama. And at the same time they were in the lead in the effort to destroy Sarah.
Most of the arrows she got were in the back. The support she got was from the people.
This post is ridiculous.
I suggest that we knock off this crap.
Couric is rehearsing before going on air. She’s never heard of Gov Palin or her kids. The kids do have strange names, and I don’t find it odd that she would say that.
Next thing you know, someone is going to ask Palin today about the tape, and she’ll fall again for the trap and respond stupidly to it.
Delete this post and move on to the future. If this is the best that this website can produce, I say that Palin is in trouble and going to come across pretty petty.
I like Sarah. She is REaganesque and Thatcheresque. She looks more presidential by the day, but let’s move on. If she is to garnish any support she needs to bring all people together to vote for her. She needs to win the support of people like Katie Couric.
I’d like to see Katie Couric someday interview her again.
I was always partial to Rip Torn as my favorite name.
Hardly “explosive”. All she does is make a little fun of Palin’s admittedly goofy names for her kids.
Without even reading the rest of the thread, no clicking the link — I saw your post in the Latest Comments run and concur with the sentiment you express.
“Nicolle set Sarah up real good.”
Nicolle Wallace must have been reading all those articles trashing Gov. Palin in Defenders of Wildlife publications and material written by the World Wildlife Federation. I received e-mails trashing Palin from aquaintances of mine who loooooooooooooove animals and did not like the aerial wolf hunts. Meanwhile a couple of them had abortions. What hypocrits.
She's had more than her fair share of chances to trash people who don't deserve it. Now it's her turn to be trashed, and she definitely deserves it. Her kids too!
Aerial wolf hunts are certainly more sporting than any abortion.
Katie made fun of “Female athletes” saying that they were not feminine...
White Anglo-Saxon Protestant naming conventions are so trite ~ if you haven’t gone Scanderhoovian, you haven’t lived!
“Aerial wolf hunts are certainly more sporting than any abortion.”
You are so correct. I love animals too, but I know that some hunts are necessary.
