My current state is about 35% black IIRC, but the history here probably gives everyone second thoughts.
BTW: Mississippi has always intrigued me in that if it were a northeastern state with a similar percentage of blacks, it would be overwhelmingly Democratic. Its amazing as you actually have racial block voting on the part of whites. I don't think this is so much racism as "interests."
