You know, it's this kind of thinking that keeps increasing the size and scope of the Federal government, furthering it into the daily lives of each and every one of us.

This shooting is not a national-level event, for pete’s sake! It's a tragedy, but get a grip here.

And now there are calls for the President to weigh in on the matter? That in and of itself is a request for a federal opinion on the matter. And if we ask for a federal opinion, then we ask for Federal government.

Maybe we'll not see any new legislation this time around, but the precedence has been set. Because of this, any new, local event can see Federal intervention... because we, the people, asked for it.

I don’t think the complainers really want federal involvement: they are just pointing out 0’s inconsistency.
