f you are like me, watching the news or reading the paper can be an exercise in exasperation. Its so hard to find a place that helps me make sense of the world I see.
Too many important stories are overlooked. And too many times we see mainstream media outlets distorting facts to fit rigid agendas. Not that youve ever heard me complain about the media before. Okay, maybe once or twice.
But there comes a time when you have to stop complaining and do something. And so we decided to hire some actual journalists to launch a new website The Blaze. And we moved fast. We built the team and the site in just two months.
We want this to be a place where you can find breaking news, original reporting, insightful opinions and engaging videos about the stories that matter most.
The Blaze will be about current news and more. Its not just politics and policy. Its looking for insight wherever we find it. Well examine our culture, deal with matters of faith and family, and we wont be afraid of a history lesson.
Flame is a powerful image. It has long stood for a burning truth. A truth that is not consumed. The Blaze will pursue truth. Of course we will make mistakes. Honest mistakes. And well be quick with corrections. We intend to earn your trust and keep it day in and day out with hard work and a lot of transparency.
And dont expect everything to be deadly serious. Boring is bad. We intend to have plenty of fun.
Weve put together a solid team of writers and reporters. I intend to keep them busy by sending a zillion story ideas at all hours.
Were also counting on you. Your comments. Your feedback. Your tips! You will help us build and shape The Blaze.
Thank you in advance.

Glenn Beck launches news site
###
Fox News host Glenn Beck launched his own news and opinion website Tuesday that will include original reporting that Beck says will pursue truth.” The site, named The Blaze, went live overnight and comes on the heels of Becks “Restoring Honor” rally Saturday in Washington.
If you are like me, watching the news or reading the paper can be an exercise in exasperation. Its so hard to find a place that helps me make sense of the world I see, Beck wrote in a note on the website. Too many important stories are overlooked. And too many times, we see mainstream media outlets distorting facts to fit rigid agendas.
We want this to be a place where you can find breaking news, original reporting, insightful opinions and engaging videos about the stories that matter most, Beck added. The Blaze will be about current news and more. Its not just politics and policy. Its looking for insight wherever we find it. Well examine our culture, deal with matters of faith and family, and we wont be afraid of a history lesson.
The site was thrown together in just two months, Beck said, and it’s being edited by Scott Baker, a former employee of conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart.
Beck provided further staffing details to Mediaite, which reports that the site has also hired Jon Seidl from the American Spectator and Meredith Jessup from Town Hall to work as reporters for Beck.
It is unclear what kind of original reporting Beck hopes to produce with the site, but on its opening morning, The Blaze is made up of mostly stories aggregated from elsewhere and highlighted media mentions of Beck.
In the past, Beck has used his television and radio shows to target members of President Barack Obama’s administration.
The sites lead story Tuesday is the same as the conservative Drudge Reports, a Washington Examiner report on Education Secretary Arne Duncan inviting staff to attend a rally with Al Sharpton rivaling Becks on Saturday.
The site also prominently features an item on the Huffington Post pulling down a post in which an author offers $100,000 for a sex tape of Beck, as well as The New York Times conservative columnist Ross Douthats praise of Becks rally.
The only apparent ads for the site as of Tuesday morning were for a new book by former House Majority Leader and tea party favorite Dick Armey and Goldline, a gold-based investment service that has been reported to sell the metal at a markup.

Oik Ilkfidel present.

Your hits! Your clicks on ads! Your further enrichment of ME ME ME!
This guy ASSUMES we are all ignorant and ASSUMES that he can educate
all of us poor ignorant folks who are not as bright as him.
No thanks.
Actually there is a vacuum (a vacancy, a need) that is begging to be filled and he is filling it. It’s the American way, it’s Capitalist and it’s the “Right Thing to Do”
Doubt seriously if he will miss your $.02 (however I might)
Cheers (it may be 5:00 someplace else but it’s 5:45 here!)
TT
I just popped over there, the articles look like originals, written by their editors, but you click onto them and they are AP stories - and they look complete.
I thought that was a no-no...
What ads?
This must be Glenn’s way of Cloward and Pivens in reverse. Overwhelm the MSM with truth in reporting.
I can't argue with any of that.
It's just his delivery, his methodology, I dislike.
The chalkboard, the pretense that he is my "teacher", all of that.
It requires a basic assumption that I am ignorant and that he
is somehow superior to me and is qualified to teach me something.
It's offensive. I don't like it.
Who the hell is HE to presume to teach ME?
When he can cite my education level and knowledge level and prove
that he is superior, he MIGHT then be allowed to condescend to me.
Not before.
Guy is getting a bigger messiah complex than 0... big turn off.
Beck is clearly a fraud, in my view, just cashing in on the J.P. Barnum principle.
I watched him being interviewed on FNS, as much as I could stand at least. He exhibits schizophrenic demeanor. He is incapable of eye contact or looking directly at a person. He looks down, to the side, then coyly up through his silly glasses. He says “Um” a lot, rolling his eyes up, to imply that he is thinking deeply and profoundly.
In reality, he is scanning the news and blogs of the day, extracting the obvious and dramatizing it. With frequent tears.
Why anyone would look to him for information or guidance or insight of any kind is beyond me and, frankly, quite sad.
Jeez, someone get a hold of Beck and tell him to get a real webmaster and turn fof that bogus blocking crap. It's blocking Comcast for crying out loud.
Well humble we’ve come to know you are a freakin genius. Others like myself need and appreciates a diagram. I’m actually glad somebody has taken the time to put it in flowchart form.
Yes, I'm aware.
But Beck's arrogance and condescension is offensive even to non-geniuses.
I applaud him for this and for what he's done so far. HOWEVER...re: the above statement...I doubt he will deal with the festering issue of Barry's eligibility problems.
LOL
arrogance and condescension
when I was a wee little one we had this saying, it takes one to know one.
Keep on gunning humble, you keep us on our toes.
