What’s Behind David Frum’s Attack on Dinesh d’Souza and Mr. Newt? (Hatred perhaps?)

What’s Behind David Frum’s Attack on Dinesh d’Souza and Mr. Newt?

Posted By Jeff Dunetz On September 16, 2010

Newt Gingrich stirred up a big of a controversy Friday night just by commenting on an article in Forbes Magazine by Dinesh D’Souza. The premise of the article is many of Obama’s positions were influenced by his dad.

What then is Obama’s dream? We don’t have to speculate because the President tells us himself in his autobiography, Dreams from My Father. According to Obama, his dream is his father’s dream. Notice that his title is not Dreams of My Father but rather Dreams from My Father. Obama isn’t writing about his father’s dreams; he is writing about the dreams he received from his father.

Whether you agree with it or not this is not a terribly, outlandish position, many of us can say that we were influenced by our father’s dreams. I certainly carried many of my father’s dreams into the next generation. Gingrich felt the D’Souza article was incredibly insightful.

Citing a recent Forbes article by Dinesh D’Souza, former House speaker Newt Gingrich tells National Review Online that President Obama may follow a “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview.

Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

"According to David Frum, Newt Gingrich’s comments were made to promote the “birther” nonsense that says Barack Obama was not born in the U.S., and D’Souza’s article was written for “race-baiting” purposes:"

Pot, meet kettle.

Funny how they throw such fits over an article most people would never have seen. It's like back in high school when every kid rushed out to read the books that were deemed controversial.

No one can write about Obama, unless it’s in praise of him.

Frum can’t or won’t explain the Obamian bizaro behaviour so d’Sousa must be at fault.

Frum is a pseudo Republican and should have no standing in the party... Disregard anything that he says.

David Frum lacks sunlight. Facts of the matter are as per D’Souza that culturally, Obama is not an American. He spent his formative years in foreign lands and cultures foreign to the US of A, thus his framework in which he views America is not at all consistent with a understanding of American history and culture. Ask him to recite the Koran and he can.

Can little Mikie from Montana, or San Antonio Rose do that?

Politically I have far more faith in Newt than I do Frum. Newt has his flaws (global warming) but he's still arguably the quickest mind the conservatives have.

It was a very thoughtful and understated article. The hypothesis was well-supported. I would have given it an “A”.

The house of cards is crumbling, IMHO.

I has nothing to do with hatred. It has to do with Democrat talking points because Dinesh has gotten too close to the fire.

Well, I don’t think Newt needs to apologize for defending the white race, Christians and western culture, all of which he sees being dragged through the mud by scumsucking lower life forms that are now running amok.

It was an insightful article, devoid of any malice, sarcasm, or ad hominem attacks.

The flak is always heaviest over the target. Dinesh is right on in his assessment about Obastard.

Because d'Souza just tore a strip off of The Lizard King's human disguise.

And all the reptile worshipers are terrified that we are about to declare Reptilian Hunting Day.

“...has nothing to do with hatred. It has to do with Democrat talking points...”

Hatred is one of the Democrats talking points, especially when dealing with any criticisms of Obama.

once again David Frum demonstrates that he is the kind of token CINO so useful to the media masters and the Democrat Pary

Frum, Kathleen Parker, David Brooks, et al serve up the useful attacks on conservatives which are so useful to the MSM

Yes, too close to Obama’s fire. The strange thing is that zero’s motivation is not the motivation of most of the supporters who have used him to get where they want to go. The man has got to be a mess inside of his head...trying to maintain the illusion that he’s in charge but all these opposing factions are telling him what to do....all the while hiding his own motivation from most everyone. And then there is his wife who I bet hounds him continually...the never happy woman wants the glitz whether it fits his world view or not.

He will be out of his misery in 2012.

Perhaps the dems ought to concede slightly..."Yes, President Obama has an anti-colonial worldview, but it's a Hawaiian anti-colonial worldview!"
