I’ve seen the phone technology in use in parts of Asia. The functionality availability there seems to be far above that of the US. Things like cops handing out speeding tickets using their smartphones. More applications and better functionality. The phones in the US all seem to be more limited.

I use “pay by phone” a lot in Asia. You pay for your snack or items at the local grocery store via your cell phone - VERY convenient!
