House and Senate members have left Washington to head back to their homes, many campaigning for reelection in the face of angry voters. Lets hope they listen to what we are saying your policies stink and heed our words before they go back to their old, dangerous spending ways in the almost certain lame-duck session.
My friends, Americans passive irritation with big-spending Washington increasingly has been replaced with alarm even outright anger. The reasons are clear: each day the fiscal fiasco we have dug ourselves into directly affects our daily lives from mortgages and taxes, to crumbling roads and uncertain funding for schools, to helping those in our society that truly need help.
The dismal economy clearly has played a key role; but a new poll sponsored by Public Notice and conducted by the Tarrance Group and Hart Research show this underlying anger. The bipartisan, ten-state survey of likely voters confirmed that 71 percent of Americans believe government spending is too high and this concern wasnt isolated to any region, income bracket, or political party.
Equally striking is that 68 percent now believe government spending affects their own financial situation. Of these respondents, a plurality of 40 percent said government spending was very much a factor in their own financial situation.
Those polled chose controlling government spending, at 21%, second only to creating jobs and growing the economy, at 40%, as the issue they say should be the top economic priority.
In other words
its become personal.

It's gotten to the point where we are making decisions about THEIR lives for a change ... and we kinda' like the power of that .. y'know?
If the lame duck session goes on a spending spree, we will have no other recourse then to physically stop them.
By Occupying DC if we have to.
It would be a good warning to the new congress too...
I was at a gathering of 43 people two nights ago. Politics was being discussed and everyone agreed that they would be voting for sure. The word incumbent and Democrat was hissed at; there was obvious anger amongst the group at politicians at every level of government.
Political Ruling Class Elitists have had their cover blown and they’re despised.
J.C. Watts is part of the problem because he’s remained an establishment type, who like Former Texas Congressman Dick Armey, criticized the TEA party movement early on. Now that they haven’t been able to defeat it, are trying to co-opt it.
No matter what he says and does now, J.C. Watts supported and voted for Barack Obama in ‘08, and many people have forgotten this. J.C.’s vote for Obama is one of the reasons why we are all in this ongoing “leftist mess”!
Can’t wait for these self appointed fools to leave.
I thought I remembered him voting Obama, I was just going to look it up when I saw your post.
I used to like J. C. Watts, but he lost me when he admitted that Zero’s politics stank but he had to vote for him anyhow. Bye, Watts! Go back to Oklahoma, shut up, and enjoy your fat congressional pension!
Could somebody help me out here? I read the whole article and did not see any mention of Watts. Where does the “now it’s personal” ruse figure in?
