Friday November 5, 2010Rep. Smith: New U.S. House Arguably Most Pro-Life Ever
By Kathleen Gilbert WASHINGTON, D.C., November 5, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) Tuesdays historic elections sent the message that more Americans want their lawmakers to consistently defend vulnerable human life and reject the presidents radical pro-abortion agenda, said the chamber's most prominent pro-life leader. Widespread discontent with the administration's progressive agenda, particularly on abortion-funding health care, spurred voters to launch a strong pro-life Majority into the House of Representatives in the 2010 midterm elections. |

January will mark the beginning of the arguably most pro-life House ever, Smith said. This is another message to President Obama that the American people will not be fooled by the Obamas accounting gimmicks and phony Executive Orders. They expect their elected officials to stand up for life without backing down.
...well you can see where the pro-life Democrats got us. :(
Chris Smith (R-NJ) has been a strong pro-life advocate for years in congress. That is why he is the Pro-life Caucus co-chair...
Well, I like that, dude!
I think it is called ObamaCare... [in terms of where the pro-life Democrats got us]
Rep.Chris Smith R-NJ?
I will never forgive him for voting yes on the Cap and Trade bill.
Also pro-Liberty and pro-Pursuit of Happiness...they kind of go together don’cha know.
He is also voted for Cap and trade. RHINO!
I voted for the Libertarian. We got a late start in putting up a good competitor, he’s in our sights for 2012
This is terribly off-message. If Republicans go off ignoring the only issues the public cares about right now — the economy, spending, debt, jobs, and malignant government growth — to arrogantly pursue their own agendas instead, then voters will hand Democrats a tsunami win in 2012 that makes this last election look like admire day at the beach by comparison.
Republican wisely avoided social issues (except for Ken Buck who stepped in it and then lost his lead and then his race), so there is no mandate for them to pursue them. This is the one area where Republicans are in the most danger to really misinterpret their mandate and overreach.
He means the most pro-life Congress of the abortion era, doesn’t he? Cause, before that...
“admire day at the beach” should say “a nice day at the beach.”
iPhone autocorrect screws me again...
IMO this is due to two main factors:
* Our majority
* Rino losses in primaries (and, a few, in the Election).
“e. If Republicans go off ignoring the only issues the public cares about right now ”
I hardly think we need to stop being pro-life in order to address economic issues, too.
The two are not mutually exclusive.
True, but this is not what Republicans were sent to Washington to do.
If they overreach, or take the focus off the economy and size of government, then there will be Hell to pay.
This Smith guy should not even be talking right now. All it does is provides a distraction and throws the GOP off message. And he’s a cap’n traitor. Not a real conservative. Probably thinks passing cap’n trade is doing God’s work.
As bad as cap & tax is, abortion is worse.
No GOVERNMENT FUNDING for abortion is fiscally conservative.
We need to say that often and loud. Thank you for posting it. Very wise message
Go figure...over the last several days of her campaign, the only radio ads I heard from Kelley Ayotte were those touting her 'pro-life' stance (television ones were more fiscal in nature)...in RINO/pro-abortion New Hampshire; she WON by 25 points.
Personally; I would like to see life issues decided state by state...let the people vote with their feet. Support abortion? Move to New England or the West Coast. Oppose it; make your home in the south or the midwest.
