The Gadsen flag with its popular Dont Tread on Me mantra could be coming to a vehicle license plate near you if you live in Virginia.
The citizens of Virginia will soon be able to express their support for smaller government and protest the Federal Governments intrusion into the affairs of private citizens, the Richmond, VA 9/12 project website says. How? With license plates that make a statement!
The group has introduced state legislation that would make Gadsen-themed license plates an official option for residents.
The group collected the 475 signatures necessary to get the plates and the appropriate legislation considered, which the legislature will do in January.
But the groups work isnt over. If the bill makes it past the legislature and is signed into law, the Department of Motor Vehicles needs 350 applications to establish the specialized identifiers. The plates will cost only $10, and the group is encouraging VA residents to fill out an application form.
Similar proposals are in place in Texas.
The TIME IS NOW, the Richmond group writes, Dont wait or it may be too late!
That would be fitting for the home of Jefferson, Madison and Monroe.
Boy, I wish we could get those here in New York.
Already have the sticker on my truck.
I think it should be made available in all 50 states.
Oh God.... I SO want one of those!!!!!
me want.. must have.. I’ll be moving into the commonwealth in June and that’ll be the first specialty tag I’ll ever own.
Texas needs a Gonzales Flag plate. Hell, if they offered that as a specialty plate option, it might soon outnumber the regular plate design. Well, not around Austin, but still...
Is that “Come and Take It”?
Having a license plate with it would be freakin' awesome. However, it's unlikely in the People's Republic of New York.
And I live and work near Ithaca, NY, the ultra-lib "City of Evil", so the lifetime expectation of my car would decrease measurably...
