English literature is chocked full of examples of village idiots, lunatics, jesters, fools and other deranged sorts who, through stupid sayings and actions, demonstrate to the normal that they are, in fact, normal. Monty Python comes to mind. We laugh at them, smug in the knowledge that we don't act like that so, therefore, we are not fools. This article makes me smile... Perhaps this statement was issued by the Ministry of Silly Weather Predicting. Just down the hall from the Ministry of Silly Walks...
