Currently in Queensland Australia, there is a significant and major flood event. This is not a localised flood, but one covering most of the Eastern part of a State which is more than double the size of Texas. The flood is centred around Rockhampton where I live, and here I detail some of the effects in our local area and also some in the wider areas to the South and West of here. I have also included a slide show of local images in this Post.
Good luck with the floods. I hope the water recedes soon and does little damage to people and property.
Interesting, I was in Rockhampton back in 2001. Took part in Operation Tandem Thrust at the Shoalwater Bay training facility. Got our vehicles from Gladstone and staged at Rockhampton for a few days. Nice town.
Keep your powder dry.
(anything we can do to help?)
