Today, the United States of America, along with a multi-national force authorized by the Security Council of the United Nations began enforcement of a no fly zone over Libya. The purpose of this mission is to protect the rebels in Libya from the Armed Forces loyal to the Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.

If this was his first chance to show himself as a world leader, I guess it didn’t work out too well.......
Leader of what? He’s down in Rio.
I looked behind him and saw no one was following.
Did the UN really authorize no fly zones ?
Guess I missed that part.
The Left must be apoplectic over this. Silently..of course.

This has enormous military and geographical implications!
World leader?? LOL!!
If bowing before Saudi Kings and denigrating the economic and military power of your own country is considered ‘leadership’, then we can do without it, thank-you very much.
Besides, given Zero’s emotional attachment towards islam, I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if he did this to advance the possibility of creating a muslim state in Libya.
Who cares about the UN? Did CONGRESS authorize this?
I don’t think so. Not that I’m aware of.
Remember - When a Republican President launches military action after lengthy UN & Congressional debate, fruitless economic sanctions, and ultimately resolutions to use force, it’s an illegal war and “cowboy” diplomacy.
The Balkans is still a war.
I think when the historians write about this, they will wonder why western nations intervened in Libya on the side of the Islamists. To use the term “caliphate” is to be labeled a loony, but that does appear to be the ultimate goal of the unrest in most of the middle east.
Ironically, the one nation where the west should have intervened/encouraged the protesters was in Iran. That is an Islamist state that the protesters were trying to throw off in favor of democracy. The rest of the mob actions will most likely take the “one man, one vote, one time” route and vote for an Islamist regime that will have no relation to democracy.
"There comes a time in the affairs of man when he must take the bull by the tail and face the situation".
Nice,
We know he is not one to take the bull by the horns.
