I would be willing to bet that George Romney could call the Mexican consulate and ask to become a Mexican Citizen and stand a good chance of getting it due to the fact he was born there.
I stand by that.
Do I know that for sure? nope. It’s a guess on my part.
Fact: From the time of the adoption of the US Constitution & until the erroneous WKA ruling, children born to aliens in the US, children who were taken back to the parents home country to be raised, children who applied for a US passport on the grounds that they were born in the US and therefore claimed to be US citizens, were denied US passports. The US State Dept determined that these children were not “born” citizens. The 100 year census backs these decisions of US State Dept.
