President Barack Obama on Wednesday met with Congressional Republicans to discuss the path forward in order to avoid default, and ultimately raise the debt ceiling. The meeting went as expected, with both sides basically blaming the other for the impasse.

The most interesting exchange came when House Budget Committee chairman Paul Ryan said that leaders can either exacerbate the problem of demagoguery or tone it down. In his words, he thought they were having a year of cooperation with the White House and House Republicans able to work together on preventing the Bush tax cuts from expiring, and a budget for the rest of the year, but President Obama’s GWU speech was the opposite.

These pictures were sent in by Luke Johnston who is the Manager of Marketing and Development at Britex, a plumbing supply manufacturer based in Bundoora, Victoria, Australia.

Luke writes: "Here are a couple of photos of a stainless steel urinal we manufactured a few years back. Our company, Britex, specializes in manufacturing hinged grate style stainless steel urinals for the Australian market. These urinals are most commonly installed here in public toilets, sports stadiums, bars, clubs and most public amenities. For this project, the client wanted "something different", so we manufactured our Britex SaniStep Urinal in a way that it could incorporate a Plasma TV into the back wall of the urinal. Normally this back wall is just a stainless steel sheet. In addition to being able to watch TV whilst using the urinal, the user also gets a pretty great view of the adjacent sea baths. There’s inspiration for you!"

(Since you presumed that it was OK to use FR to advertise your blog, we didn't think you'd mind if Luke advertised his urinal on your thread.)

Wow....I don't think a urinal like that has ever been seen in Baghdad.

Ever.

I wonder if they could do a triptych of Hanoi Jane, Moe-Ham-Head and the Usurper ..... sort of a “Triple Header.”

I like it!

By the way, I saw a monkey who looked an awful lot like Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at the Houston Zoo on Tuesday.

The monkey was much cuter, though.

For you to reminisce -

These pictures were submitted by AK, who is stationed at Camp Graceland. He writes: "The sewer system in Baghdad is so horrid that we can use the toilets [in] "Urinal Only" [mode], hence [this submission to Urinal Dot Net]. Even though we have been here for a year now, the halls and floors in this building can be cleaned no better then what you see here. The pipes leak and seals do not function well. If this had been shower-stall.net I would have taken a picture of the adjoining shower: a pipe [in] the wall with a makeshift shower head. Soldiers take what they can get and it's nice having working urinals and running water".

Yep....you see signs like those in most hard buildings - which constitutes most of our workplaces.

And I don’t miss it one bit. :-)
