I get aura without migraines. It begins with a “hole” in my vision that lasts for 5 minutes, then the “hole” fradually moves across my line of vision until it transforms into zig zag lights that travels to the side of my vision. They last all of 20 minutes and except for the first 5 minutes when my central vision is impaired, I can still function. I’ve gotten them when I was driving, and was able to keep driving without any problem. There is no pain associated with them, yet the eye doctor diagnosed it as optical migraines. I have suffered with the painful types years ago, but they were never accompanied with the aura. The auras began when I was about 30 and I’m now 63.
No good treatment, but sending conservative candidates money and seeing them elected seems to have a palliative effect.
I have the exact same aura. Very litle pain, sometimes a 10 minute nap is the cure. It started in my late teens but I didn’t know it was classified as a migrane until I was in my mid 40s.
