Why bother? Colin Powell has always been as far left as Eric Holder or anybody else in Obama’s administration. He just happened to rise to prominence during the Reagan/Bush years and felt it was more beneficial for his career to claim to be a Republican. He showed his true colors in 2008 when he came out on the eve of the election and endorsed Obama over McCain. So essentially you had a former military man who chose the far left, anti-military Obama, over the slightly left of center War Hero McCain. That tells you that either Powell has always been a far leftist or he's such an amoral opportunist, that he thought his “conversion” on the eve of Obama’s election would guarantee him a place in the administration. If so, this has been a fatal strategic error on his part, because the democrats won't touch him with a ten foot pole after he served under GWB and helped start the Iraqi War and now the Republicans won't give him the time of day because he endorsed Obama over McCain. Powell is now, “the man without a party” (which is why he spends his days giving speeches for cash).

Better make it $150K.
Powell gets $15K to take a dump at the Harvard Club or at any big corporation’s HQ.

And so Powell sees the evidence. Does anyone think he hasn't seen at least some of it already? Or for that matter, does anyone think that nearly all of the folks in Congress haven't seen at least some of it too? Powell would just say that experts he talked to said all of the anomalies could easily be explained. Period. End of story. Or he could just say nothing at all. "Yeah. I saw it. I wasn't impressed at all."

In 2008, Colin Powell, when offered the choice of supporting a Republican colleague with decades of service to the nation. His colleague was a former POW who served the nation in war and like Powell, was a relatively liberal and media-popular politician. Powell chose to support an inexperienced hard-left politician of the opposing party. Powell supported him because that politician had a black father.
If you were a soldier serving in Powell’s command, would you have confidence in Powell if he might change his support to the enemy’s side because the enemy was partially black?
I believe Powell’s choice defines Powell’s character.

That remark of Powell’s should go right alongside Obama’s saying he was amused by the issue - while a decorated military surgeon sat in jail and lost his entire life savings because he cared about the Constitution. The fact that a supposed CINC would be “amused” by sending a man of honor to jail for simply wanting to keep his oath should have made anybody of honor sick to their stomach.
Those who laugh and mock those who actually care about the oath they have taken and the rule of law stink to high heaven - and at this point that includes pretty much everybody in the establishment.
The fact that Obama finally responded with a very bad forgery doesn’t amuse anybody who cares about the rule of law or the Constitution.
Powell and the other establishment folks who are “amused” rank right up there with the people who were spitting on the only innocent Man the world has ever had the honor of hosting, as He died for the sins of the people who spit on innocence and honor. In both contexts, the jeering at honor says it all.

Colon Powell was always a token and will always be a token.
He was George Bush’s messenger boy to Norman Schwartzkoff during Desert Storm.
He was partially to blame for the reason we did not get Hussein the first time.

I saw
your thread from the other day "Looking for info on proof of eligibility legislation" and I was puzzled.
A "newbie" gets on FR and
immediately posts a vanity feigning ignorance and asks for something that a simple search would provide.
proof of eligibility legislationSo pardon my skepticism as to your intent, enjoy your stay and know that I'm really looking forward to your replies.

Well this is sad. I take it not many people are paying the $39 to register for the Birther Summit.
A friendly tip for Dean Haskins: if you want conservatives to sign up for your shindig in DC, don't invite a 9/11 Truther as one of your featured speakers. Also, say that you'll be serving punch and pie. People love punch and pie.

I’m not sure what good it would be giving $15,000 to Powell to look at the BC. A $15,000 bet wth Powell that the BC is a fake would be much better.

It is a wonder we won any battles with easily to sucker Powell leading us. Thankfully, we never had to fight the Russians or Chinese with him at the helm.
