Obama's Getting Close To Nothing Left To Lose

Flying under the radar. Maintaining plausible deniability. Leading from behind. Voting present. All these phrases have come to symbolize President Barack Obama's political career and now his presidency. He lectures others on how to live, work and vote but takes no real action himself that might be used against him in future campaigns. While many on the ideological right have called him out on this strategy for years, it is only recently that voices from the left have joined the chorus demanding actual leadership from this president.

And that’s what worries me. This guy continues to be a defiant punk and power grabbing thug despite his utter failure as a leader. I’m not sure how easily this guy is going to walk away from the seat of power.

Barack Obama is to ‘leadership’ as Maynard G. Krebs is to ‘work’.

Blogpimp definitely.

It’s not a zottable offense though.

I’d rather shoot for rehabilitation. Except in the case of serial offenders.

Jim Rob on bloggers:

"I have no complaint if a good conservative blogger posts his own material to FR, not as an excerpt to drive hits and discussion back to his blog, but rather to impart useful information to OUR readers and to promote and join in on the discussion and conservative activism HERE on FR.

If a blogger can’t or refuses do that, and if he constantly complains or fights with our participants over it, then I’d just as soon he doesn’t post here.

It’s not my job to make his content or his presentation or cooperation acceptable to our readers.

That’s his job.

And if he cannot do it or refuses to do it and continues posting brief excerpts only and obviously attempting to draw away our participants while loudly complaining about it, then I have no sympathy for his complaints and the more apt I am to ban his account and blog.

Obama's Getting Close To Nothing Left To Lose

Good. Maybe he'll decide to leave Earth and give the rest of us that Hope and Change we were promised.

Obama is the true definition of ‘pecksniffian’...as if Dickens modeled Mr. Seth Pecksniff after him.

Pecksniffian derives from his Martin Chuzzlewit of 1844, in which Seth Pecksniff is a land surveyor and architect, though the author remarks that the only surveying of land he did was of the view of the countryside from his windows and that “of his architectural doings, nothing was clearly known, except that he had never designed or built anything.” In truth, Mr Pecksniff, though in appearance the most upright of men who prated about high moral principles and benevolence, was an awful hypocrite, full of meanness and treachery. Dickens remarked scathingly that “Some people likened him to a direction-post, which is always telling the way to a place, and never goes there.”

This is a good opportunity to let folks know that Martin Chuzzlewit in an underappreciated part of the Dickens canon, and is worth the read (even at 600 pages).

If that is not your style, BBC did a creditable mini-series available on DVD.

But once the brand has been exposed as nothing more than a slick marketing campaign for a disastrous product, it's time to either take decisive action to improve it or take it off the shelves.

I've been speculating for a couple of years that the First Mulatto doesn't really care whether or not he gets a second term.

After all, he gets all the presidential retirement perks after one term. Then he can go on the "Bill Clinton World Globetrotting for Megabucks" speaking tour, and he and The First Mooch can live comfortably off us suckers, while they accumulate enough of a nest egg in speaking royalties to buy a nice little retirement place.

Like Kenya.

I find it very irritating when anyone — blogpimp or not — starts a thread and doesn’t join the conversation. Kind of like “let them eat cake”.

I have a prayer request. There’s a lady I’ve known forever. She’s very sick. On top of that, she’s being abused by those she has given everything to. Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there’s nothing I can do alone. But maybe, if we join in and lift her up, we can help. She’s well over 200 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is America... and I love her.

Agreed it may well be that we will have to send a cadre of Marines over to pry his fingers from around the door jamb and frog march him and his Whitey hatin wife to the gates.
