I understand that Rosh HaShana and the day after are considered Sabbaths. However, it's been several days that I have been unable to read Israeli newspapers on-line. I've tried J'lem Post, Haaretz and Arutz Sheva. I am unable to reach their websites. I'm trying to tell myself that maybe they are down because of Rosh HaShana which is being followed by a regular Sabbath. But, given the situation in the ME, I don't find that explanation very satisfactory. I don't have any problem accessing any other websites, just Israeli newspapers.
Does anybody know what's going on? I had never followed those papers daily so, it is common to shut down for Rosh Hashana?
Thanks, and don't forget to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Check your anti-virus SW and parental control filters.
Done that. Negative. Like I said, it is ONLY the Israeli papers that are causing me trouble.
OK, then if I go to my “history” and click on an article that I read last week, shouldn’t I be able to access it? I don’t want to sound paranoid, but this doesn’t make any sense at all. And, like I said, this has been going on for several days.
They aren’t shut down. We read them in our house and celebrated.
Maybe you didn’t feed your mouse?
Stone tablets are not electrivally conductive?
Do you own a computer?
LOL
Shalom!
Sounds like a filter or virus or something.
I just tried the Jerusalem Post, and had no trouble.
I am able to go on all of the israeli paper’s web sites. Just tried opening jpost.com on Firefox had no issues.
Just looked at Jerusalem post online, its up and Arutz Sheva, also. Sun, Oct 2, 2011 4 Tishri, 5772.
Both are up and running.
"Hi. This is Sarah Palin. Is Senator Lieberman in?" "No, governor. This is Rosh Hashana."
"Well, hello, Rosh. Can I leave a message?"
(Sorry, the devil made me do it. ;>)
I've checked for viruses and malware, my pc is clean. How do I check for a filter? Could I have accidentally done something to block those websites? BTW, I use TrendMicro Internet Security... or rather my daughter installed it for me, all I do is pay the yearly fee, LOL.
It is sad to be computer challenged!

I’m not familiar with Trend Micro, I’m afraid. You might try going into Internet Explorer, Internet Options, Security, and see if there is a list of forbidden sites there, which some programs add. I have a bunch of them put in by Spybot Search & Destroy, I think. Or you can check to see if there is some kind of kiddie protection turned on.
Or if you aren’t familiar with that sort of thing, you might want somebody else to have a look. When you exit Internet Options you want to click on Cancel rather than OK, unless you’ve changed something deliberately and want to keep it.
