This is a pet peeve of mine, so please humor me.
Marxists change language. Americans are referred to as citizens or “the public” and in Karl Marxland - in the former Soviet Union and China - the population is “the masses.”
Be a rebellous refusnik. Reject communist re-education and history revision. We are the public or citizens. The poor Chinese are “masses.”

OK. But maybe even using your guidelines the people who blindly voted for Obama are “the masses”? They are abdicating their role as liberty loving citizens.
