Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), Chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, appeared on Fox and Friends and told host Gretchen Carlson people do not elect leaders to create jobs.
After Carlson relays what Sen. Mitch McConnell said- he believes if a Republican were president they could create jobs- Wasserman Schultz fired back with, "That's not why people elect leaders. They elect us to work together."

Then why do you claim you can create them?
Government does not “create” jobs. Government do employ people (pay people to come to work). They do not directly influence the private sector to hire tax payers for any meaningful, gainful and/or productive position. A subsidy handed out in order to “create” a position is no more than expensive money laundering. You give someone money and tell them to hire Betty for $100K/year. Betty pays 25% tax that goes back to the government. In the best of scenarios (which has never happened), the government spent $100K to gain $25K in tax revenue AND some form of political capital and campaign contributions.
All government is capable of doing is getting in the way of American production and economic prosperity or getting out of the way of it.
It's like saying a sailor can control the wind. No, he can put out more sail or less but the wind will blow whether he likes it or not. We need to get government out of the way so we can let the sails out fully and unleash the full potential of the American economic engine.

I’m confused. Despite what DWS says, the Democrats do not work together with Republicans. Republicans do the work for the Democrats, and if the Republicans do not do the Democrats’ bidding, it is all the Republicans’ fault.
