Yes! Sarah Palin as energy secretary. What a perfect spot for her.

You reveal something about yourself (that I would be hesitant to reveal) when you come on a Perry thread and refer to Perrywinkles.

Here’s a clue. It’s not cute.

You are reaching but you need longer arms.

And, by the way, your post is not only erroneous but a little sick.

I think a big appeal for Cain supporters is the lure of the unknown.

Since we know virtually nothing about the man (I know, poor kid, up by his own bootstraps, successful businessman) but I mean nothing about how he would vote or govern, they can project onto him all the dream virtues they want.

There’s no record to criticize him on. Nada. There’s no record for him to brag about either.

Anyone can talk the talk that people want to hear.

I’m not ready to take anyone on his WORD, if that’s all he’s got.

I do think that at this point, Cain has the “heartless” vote sown up.

“Crony capitalism is a big problem and I think Perry’s money will ultimately be a negative.”

I agree. I want to know how he went from $0 to $17 million in less than two months.

Who is he in bed with? Who does he owe?

“Herman Cain does not have the money or organization to go the distance...”

It’s just that he’s at the top of the pack now. Even RCP now has him tied with Romney. I guess without money or organization, Cain will just drop to the floor dead one day...based on this theory.

But the most important part of the plan is how does Cain intend to get it implemented? He can’t do it by the wave of his pen so he must get the Congress to act. That isn’t the easiest thing in the world to do.

Cain's 9-9-9 plan being hard to implement is a good thing. I don't want a national sales tax, but other than that, I do like Cain.

Let’s see what happens after Perry comes out with Phase II, his taxes and federal spending policies.

I don’t care for 999-not in the least bit nor do I care for Mitt Romney. Neither Cain nor Romney is the best candidate IMO. I think Gingrich and Bachmann have repeatedly shown themselves to be the the superior candidates throughout all of these debates and if that means nothing, what was the point of even having these debates?

Politics ain’t math and it ain’t logic. As others have pointed out, all it takes is a Dean Scream, or a Reagan “There you go again” to turn conventional wisdom on its head. Just like in football, you actually have to play the game to find out who wins. Anyone who says So and So *is* going to win is blowing smoke.

999 may garner a lot of support, may be the best idea since sliced bread, and may explain a lot of Cain's support. Nothing wrong with any of that.

It has to be about JOBS this time around. Perry's first concrete proposal as a candidate has been about JOBS. Romney (puke) likewise. Although as Cain pointed out, Romney's 59 point plan is too cumbersome and difficult to absorb by the average republican voter.

I hope Perry successfully promotes his energy-jobs plan this Tuesday and beyond. It could be a game changer. Being a life-long Texan with a past in Oklahoma and California, I can tell you Perry's plan will send shockwaves of job growth across the landscape. I've watched these towns that were nothing turn into economic machines when exploration and drilling gets underway -- NUMEROUS times.

I'd encourage any of us to Google the current North Dakota economy and read about job creation as it relates to energy exploration. And just because one region may experience drilling and another may not, the jobs created take on tentacles to other areas where infrastructure and supply/manufacturing is readily available.

Cain’s national sales tax proposal could open the door for future European-Style higher taxes on purchases. It just scares me.

I like Cain and think he’s make a great VP candidate.

Perry/Cain is my dream ticket!

I think the attacks against him have been cheap.
