Newt Mocks Bartiromo's 'Funny' Defense of the Liberal Media

During Wednesday night's presidential debate, Newt Gingrich could barely restrain his amusement as co-moderator Maria Bartiromo defended the liberal media's reporting of the economy.

Bartiromo took umbrage after Gingrich's asserted, "What is amazing to me is the inability of much of our academic world and much of our news media and most of the people on Occupy Wall Street to have a clue about history." The CNBC journalist responded by huffing, "I'm sorry, but what is the media reporting inaccurately about the economy?" An incredulous Gingrich mocked, "I love humor disguised as a question. That's terrific." [ See video below. MP3 audio here.]

Wasn’t that snipe by Maria after the ambush questions on Herman Cain and the media driven false allegations?

Yes if my memory is correct.. And IMHO it is Newt's way of saying Herman I got your back.

Nice way to endear yourself into a VP slot IMHO....

Pretty much. I think they all know just like the CNN “debates” it will eventually turn into another ambush by drooling libtard hosts. You would think barti would hide her idiotic liberal bias but libs are a disgraceful bunch..

Newt is by far the sharpest debater and quickest wit of the bunch.

It was classic. Well done on Speaker Gingrich's part. Fun to watch. We re-watched it several times just to enjoy all the various parts like the look on Gingrich's face when he said, "what?"

Newt toying with Maria Dumbiroma was the best part of the debate. I guess nobody clued her in ahead of time.

True.

If it wasn’t for what he did to his wife and a handful of other incredulous positions I would be front and center in support.

I still may end up there.

I’d like to hear a single one of the old GOP’ers running admit they were wrong.

Romney is the guiltiest here, but Newt, and his position on warming and what it meant to the economy and personal freedoms is something he should be on his knees about.

It isn’t hard:

I was wrong about ________.

My thinking was _________.

I learned ___________________ from this mistake.

As a result, you can bet I won’t, nor will I allow anyone else, make that mistake twice if I’m elected President.

Credibility restored. It really is that simple.

Definitely Gingrich at the top of the ticket. It makes no sense to have the less competent guy on top of the ticket.

I think Newt has mentioned that his commercial with "The Queen" was a mistake.....

It's starting to look pretty obvious to me. I saw the good plus side of the ledger when this process began, but I wrote him off because it seems (judging from FR) that he'd committed too many ideological sins (nevermind his mortal sins.)

But at this point, the way it's shaking out, if the choices are Cain or Newt, it's Newt hands down. It's really not even close. I guess I'm pretty close to knowing who I support. Looks like Newt.
