Of the remaining field, I think Perry is the best of the bunch, in terms of his ideology and record. I’m glad he is staying in the race, but I think his candidacy is doomed. Even his contemporary in South Carolina, Gov. Nikki Haley, has endorsed Romney.

If he can somehow finish in the top 2 in SC, and then show well in Florida, maybe he can stay in for the southern states.

Otherwise, he will be unable to raise money, and his day as a non-Romney will be over.

“Even his contemporary in South Carolina, Gov. Nikki Haley, has endorsed Romney.”

That doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. Romney is NOT popular in the southern states, including South Carolina, and I think South Carolina voters see that Haley endorsed Romney purely as political payback for his endorsement of her gubernatorial campaign. Therefore, I believe Haley’s Romney endorsement is irrelevant.

Gov. Perry is the only candidate in this race who shares southern values: anti-DC, limited government, pro-life, pro-traditional marriage, deeply Christian, pro-military, pro-business and SOUTHERN!
