George Wilcken Romney
July 8, 1907(1907-07-08)
Galeana, Chihuahua, Mexico

It does not state any thing about if George Romney became a American citizen yet the grandparents (if I am reading this correct) were Citizens.....I just do not understand this

Well, of the grandparents were citizens then Romney’s father was indeed a citizen.

There is a process by which the children of U.S. citizens born in a foreign nation are registered with the Embassy. Not to do so hinders later claims of citizenship.

PA-RIVER, a Freeper, claimed that George Romney has a Mexican birth certificate. If true, that would indicate his birth was registered in Mexico, possibly with local authorities in Chihuahua.

I can find no on-line information as whether he naturalized as a U.S. citizen or was registered later.

George did withdraw from a political race for Republican nominee for President after questions concerning his citizenship arose. Whether that means he discovered his parents had failed to register him with the U.S. Embassy and he needed to naturalize, I do not know.

If George Romney wasn’t a U.S. citizen then that will cause Mitt Romney problems.
