I received that survey. I told them how many people lived in my house, my race is “human”, and every page after that I told them was none of their business.

Haven’t heard anything from them.

They account for non-responders in the data gathering. The Census really does have to ask this information for statistical purposes - it replaced the Long Form. Your personal information is removed from the data which is used for planning purposes, and that is authorized under the Commerce Clause.
