Why do political conservatives like the AMC television show "The Walking Dead"? It's a show
about people who catch a dread virus and mutate into brain-dead eating machines with a
taste for human blood. Most of the world is ravaged by this virus, and you find yourself
rooting for the intrepid band of uninfected humans who are trying to survive in the
apocalyptic aftermath.
Perhaps the program's appeal is that it is a metaphor of life in America today. That's the
premise of WND.com founder Joseph Farah's recent editorial upon which this video was based.
Farah contends that we conservatives are the remaining survivors of non-mutant humans. The
"Walking Dead" are the majority of Americans who voted for Barack Obama -- and who may be
planning to vote for him a second time. In real life, we could call them the "Walking Dems"
who suck the blood of the shrinking productive class in America. What will become of them
when they bleed all of us dry has probably never occurred to them and never will -- because
largely they don't think. They just consume.
In a recent episode one of the survivors betrayed himself as a bleeding heart. His wife and
some other family members were infected, but he didn't put them out of their misery by
shooting them in the head, as one must do with the Walking Dead. Instead, he kept them
locked up in the barn and fed them live chickens, hoping a vaccine would be found some day
that would revive them.
But you won't survive long in Walking Dead Land with that kind of attitude, which explains
why there aren't more bleeding hearts on the show.
The bleeding hearts have all been ravaged by the virus. They are the Walking Dead.
Will the remnant ever beat the odds? Can they ever overcome the superior numbers of
bloodsuckers out there -- or "walkers," as they call them?
This is an important question because if they can find an answer, maybe we can, too.
We need to learn how to survive in a world of blood-sucking Democrats -- crazy, brain-dead,
flesh-consumers who only care about their own carnal needs. Maybe this show has the answer.
Maybe this season finale or next season's finale will provide the epiphany we need to learn
how to cope in this world of the Walking Dems. Stay tuned.
How the zombies came to be is not stated in the television series. Nor is it in the illustrated story the television series is based on. The zombies merely are.
I am so freaking addicted to TWD.
Whats crazy is Rick is actually British... watch him speak on the utubes for a shock.
But I think the good professor is reading the show only on the surface when he talks about conservatives seeing the zombies as representing Dems. The strength of the show is simply the characters. Rick is a true hero; a good man who protects others, has faith, is willing to put his own life on the line, and is compassionate, but will do what is necessary. Shane is a perfect antihero; loyal, caring, but also ruthless and envious. He likes this new world.
Conservatives can relate to these men. Episodes 7 and 8 nailed it for these two characters. Episode 7 showed Shane to be deadly and unwilling to compromise. Episode 8 showed Rick will always attempt to bring about a peaceful solution, but when the situation turns bad, he won't hesitate to kill. Conservatives can learn a thing or two from these guys.
