Rita Wilson, who do you think you are and why are you trying to make America a socialist gulag?

A network television show called “Who do you think you are?”, which airs on Friday night’s, traces the family trees of celebrities. Many of the shows provide interesting incites into fascinating family history, but some expose the hypocrisy of those whose families are featured. Rita Wilson the actress and current wife of Tom Hanks was exposed this week.

While most episodes trace people’s lineage back several generations, Wilson’s went back only to her father’s life in Eastern Europe from his birth in 1920 until his arrival here in America around 1950.

As the story goes her father, who was born a Muslim in Greece, was brought to Bulgaria as a child and had strong ties there. He was a conscript into the Bulgarian army and was by definition one of Hitler’s soldiers.

At some point he was tried and convicted of theft by the army and sent to prison which may be the first sign of his personal rectitude. If Hitler didn’t like him he was probably a good man. When the Communists took over Bulgaria, because of his love of freedom, they declared him an “Enemy of the State” and put him in a work camp.

Wilson’s father had to risk his life to escape and do who knows what to get away from socialism to come to America a country he truly loved even before he got here.

Unfortunately none of her father’s hatred for socialism has been passed on to his daughter Rita. She and her husband are BIG donors...

People who behave like this are simply, in a word, stupid.

They are manipulated into believing that it's "nice" to support liberal democrats. She can't grasp big picture things like creeping socialism.

She can't understand that things like centralized health care, speech codes, strict gun control, ever-rising tax rates, or class warfare are all little steps to inure us for the coming global Marxist state. Her brain is too little.

She's a pretty woman, but if you look at her face, it's pretty obvious that there's a fifteen watt bulb behind the eyes.

This horse faced Commie Pinko is a vapid and rotten actress. If it wasn’t for her old man, she wouldn’t get any work at all.

So typical of Hollyweird libs - they are ALL HYPOCRITES. It’s us little people who need to be controlled by their holy government.

I was thinking the same exact thing as I watched this Friday night. For the life of me I can’t understand how the next generation can dream of going to a system their parents risked everything to escape. I have concluded that people like Rita Wilson are mentaly deranged. It is the only viable explanation.

Tom is a Limo Liberal like his creepy wife.

Rita’s claim to fame is finding the “Big Fat Greek Wedding.” And like Bill Ayers, must hate her anti-Socialist father and embraces crippling Socialism.

I don’t know who wrote this, but the writer needs some English refresher time.

“....interesting incites into fascinating family history.”

“Incites” is wrong-wrong-wrong. It’s “insights”. Errors like this make reading and comprehension of the article very difficult.

We all know people like this. They take the freedoms and lifestyles for granted while pulling the lever to convince themselves (or their PR dept.) that they’re such wonderful do-gooders, non prejudiced, “smiling faces” types.

The reality is they are selfish, immature, typically bigoted (both racially and by class), close minded, and condescending.

Oh yeah, and angry too if they don’t get their way.

The show was a little creepy. I got the feeling she was trading off her family tragedies for a little television time and a boost to her career.

But at least it did have some narrative interest. I only saw a few minutes but made sure I tuned back in to see what happened to the guy.

Dredging it all up again to make some political point, working in all kinds of little digs at father and daughter, though, is also pretty unseemly and hardly seems worthwhile.

So far as I know, Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks haven't yet advocated internment camps for people who disagree with them politically.

Yet she is heavily financing a politician who shares the same underlying ideology as Josef Stalin.

Her inability to perceive the ideological similarity is very sad.

When I encounter howlers of that kind, I read something else. People who can't be troubled to write intelligibly or rely on competent editors probably don't have anything to say.

Thank you. That’s a good idea. I’m so tired of having a whole article ruined for me due to someone’s ignorance and laziness.

I don’t just raise my children, I make sure they understand WHY I believe as I do. So far, so good, and they are adults.

I’ve watched all the episodes from the entire series because I have an interest in history and genealogy. I have been increasingly disappointed with the show.

Anyone who has seriously researched a family tree knows that it is very important not to jump to conclusions and to document your information with facts. Ancestry.com should know better.

This show has an agenda. Watch the episodes where they are researching the family of a black celebrity. The show twists itself into pretzels to make assumptions and jump to conclusions.

A) All black people were descended from slaves. A recent episode had a free black ancestor from very early in our country’s history. This seemed to shock and surprise the celebrity. Even more shocking to him was to find out that this family owned land and slaves of their own. A few gymnastic moves and voila! The two slaves were deemed to have been the owner’s parents. They actually said they purchased their own parents to “keep the family together”. Not one shred of evidence that this was indeed true.

B) If there is any white blood in a black family it was because the slave owner raped a slave. One of the shows found white blood in the family tree and assumed that it was because the plantation owner raped the slave. Then they turn this into fact without any documentation whatsoever. The truth was they didn’t know who donated the white DNA.

C) There are no bad apples in celebrity family trees. If they did something wrong it was because of mental illness, racism, or they were a political activist and now the celebrity knows where they derived their own activism. It can be a bit humorous at times.

This has ruined the show for me. They can’t seem to just stick with the facts but have to weave a bit of fantasy in there as well.
