Will You Give Up America’s Gun Rights to United Nations Arms Treaty
Examiner ^ | July 26, 2012 | Kevin Fobbs

Tick, tock, on the clock, Tick Tock, on America’s freedom clock winds down and your time to protect your family and your Second Amendment Constitutional Right to bear arms, may be running out.

If the United Nations new Arms Treaty goes into effect, Americans all over the nation may soon after adoption of the treaty, be subjected to United Nations jackboot thug enforcers coming into your community and even into your home to strip away by force your guns, your rifles, and most importantly, your family’s constitutional protection!

Where is the alarm and constitutional defense from the Obama administration? Is this acceptance by silence just one more indication that giving up on our nation’s sovereignty is par for the course for the White House’s abandonment of our constitutional rights?

More importantly can Americans truly trust a president who has abandoned Arizona’s sovereign constitutional rights to protect its citizens and its borders from illegal aliens, really protect American’s gun owning citizens?

How is this happening under American’s radar?

Not that difficult to understand. While summer vacations and recreational opportunities are being pursued across the nation, the United Nations is working feverously to construct an Arms Treaty that would in effect disarm America’s Second Amendment rights through possible future amendments. What a rude awakening for the nation this would be in the near future to have the citizens’ gun rights served up on a Christmas platter.

This draft document is nearing completion and it is being largely influenced by such rogue nations as Iran, and Syria; not allies or supporters of America’s interests. America’s second amendment rights can be effectively nullified even...

...they trust the Iranians with nukes, but not citizens with guns?

I don’t trust a government that doesn’t trust its own citizens.

The founding documents for my country says that certain rights are God given rights. That means that they can not be taken away by man or even the UN.

He will sign it, of course. To be legal here in the US, it has to be ratified by 2/3 of the Senate. He will TRY to subvert this process by Executive Order, but I, like many others will just flat ass ignore it.

He will have to have his minions review each and every, business-held Form 4473 which documents gun purchases. He won’t surmount the legal challenges to his illegal attempts to access the data. Likewise, he won’t be able to determine those weapons not covered by Forms 4473 (private purchases, etc.)....do not comply is my advice.

Didn’t we also sign a treaty that makes Obama dictator for life? And another treaty that bans the Republican party from existing?

Somehow I don’t see this flying past the SCOTUS. You can not re-write the constitution through treaty.

A treaty cannot be used to circumvent the Bill of Rights.

What would you do if you woke up one morning and turned on the news and heard that the President signed a UN treaty outlawing the private ownership of firearms in the United States. What would you do if you had a brother, sister or father or grandfather that was an avid gun owner and the UN or local police took them away for the fact that they owned fire arms and refused to give them up? Well when you wake up tomorrow morning the 27th of July 2012 The President will have most likely signed that treaty. And we are one step closer to being a dictatorship.
Let us all not forget history. Germany first act of Adolph Hitler ban gun ownership, 6 millions jews killed, 50 million people killed in WW2. Stalin no one was armed in the Soviet Union, 20 million Ukrainians dead. Mao 100 million Chinese killed. Ect ect. (Those that forget the Past are bound to repeat it). Molon Labe (come and take it)!
I posted this on my facebook page and have only gotten two likes and one comment. People don’t care. They care about their Starbucks and American Idol. We are a lost Nation. I weep for America.

Also Obama and the UN are conspiring for the UN to take over the Internet.

Nor does a treaty override the constitution.

Alexander Hamilton, stated that “A treaty cannot be made which alters the Constitution of the country, or which infringes any express exceptions to the power of the Constitution...” James Madison, a primary author of the Constitution: “I do not conceive that power is given to the President and the Senate to dismember the empire, or to alienate any great, essential right. I do not think the whole legislative authority to have this power.” Finally, Thomas Jefferson’s assessment: “I say the same as to the opinion of those who consider the grant of the treaty-making power as boundless. If it is, then we have no Constitution.”

Treaties do not override the Constitution

In anticipation that our president may sign one or more treaties that conflict with the U.S. Constitution’s limited grant of power, several voices of alarm are contending that a treaty can override, or in effect amend, our Constitution. Although that view has gained some currency, it is a myth that contradicts the intent of those who framed the Constitution and it violates any reasonable interpretation of the constitution.

United States treaties are created when proposed by the President, with the advice and consent of the Senate. The power of the President and the Senate, in their treaty-making capacity, was never intended to be a power greater than the Constitution. Per their oath of office: I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
