I don’t see armed conflict as part of America’s final reckoning before we fall as the World’s Superpower and re-organize. Rather, I see lengthy legal battles as a couple of southern states make moves to establish their own independence. Skirmishes may come about when they grant their people and businesses the “State” right to quit paying Federal taxes. The “State” will have to agree to defend it’s citizens from Federal enforcement and that’s where some skirmishes will break out.

The loss of the two states from the current political turmoil will upset the balance of voting power in the electorate and will cause further denegration of a civil society. As others consider sessesion, violence between citizens may break out. But the legal battles will divide and eventually become the unduing of our nation, not the killing in an all out civil war.

...And those are my thoughts on the worst case scenario.

There was a 'state vs. federal' battle a few decades ago in Louisiana. The state didn't want to force 3 high school girls to be forcibly bussed to an inner city school, but the federal government's forced bussing only for southern states plan stated no neighborhood schools. LA rolled out the state police, while the Feds brought the National Guard and tanks. The girls were bussed.

If it is one state versus the feds, we will lose. You need to recognize this attack when it comes, it may not look like what you expect. Be prepared to wage asymetrical warfare and win on another front. (Hint: Louisiana is where the concept of home schooling was born.)

I see your scenario as what is likely to occur, if we are pushed into it by the likes of nobama.

Once it begins, many States they call Blue, will join in and eventually the few remaining with the Fed will be the broke, over unionized and liberal States that at some point will come begging to either USA2 or to EU (probably EU first because of the kinship of mind).

Don't hold your breath for this. The judiciary has traditions in place which prevent people from challenging Constitutionality of "laws". I tried, in two different states, to find out how to challenge unconstitutional state statutes, having had clear examples of those statutes being contrary to the State's own Constitution; you cannot [normally] gain 'standing' to challenge it unless you violate it, which means that you have to fight from a position of weakness as the accused rather than from the position of accuser.
