Ha. About 1/2 of California for the last 3 years. And it doesn't have to be a health problem, just Christmas coming is enough reason. They were recently lined up around the block at Lancaster to drop off their dogs.

California is the worst place ever for a dog. I have a handful of rescued ones at my place from shelters down there.

All 4 of my boys and girls are pound puppies from the Downey, Bell Gardens and Compton area. Those people throw away their dogs like just another piece of garbage.
Fortunately for my boys and girls they all live with me on my farm in a remote, mountainous area of far Northern California now.
I still own my home in Downey, but we only go down to visit friends and family about once a year for about 2 weeks max; all I can take of So. Cal.
What they need to do down there is exterminate about 80% of the so called human population and and hold the remainder legally responsible for the health and welfare of their dogs .
If they fail in their responsibilities they should be fined and jailed.
