What interests me is what it is the gives that spark that drives the climb and sustaining, and indeed, the continuing rise, of civilization.

All around the world there is evidence of great innovations, great ideas, and engineering feats, whether ancient or modern, but very little in Africa.

I share that curiosity with you. I've also wondered what forces and historical events could have created a continent of handicapped people (not that they all are - not in the least).

I don't know nearly enough about the history of Africa to formulate a hypothesis, but it's my guess that there were indeed some sort of forces which overwhelmed those people's innate abilities to innovate, progress, and prosper, as the peoples of other continents did.

Maybe one day when I'm retired and have the time to indulge such curiosities, I'll find the answer.

Yeah, when I retire too.

There are historical facts that do point to a continent of handicapped people. Mostly, from mid last millenium to now—the rise of islam.

I had the great fortune to spend a year in Egypt just after Sadat as assassinated. moslems are (some) of the most racially motivated people I have ever met.

One told me one day that he couldn’t understand how “his” people could have lost the knowledge that created the monuments of ancient Egypt. I avoided that fight.

That being said, I’m just a poor farmboy turned cabinetmaker. But I had educational opportunities to be something else. I was 75 credits into an engineering degree (hard rock mining) when I went to Egypt. After that experience I changed my mind.

And the quest is to understand. I am an info junkie. My question to you wasn’t because I was being antithetical. I am merely interested in any sites or siting of evidence to support or deny statements made by others, or yourself.

What also dismays me is the intentional destruction, passing off, rebuttal without clinical proof, or burying of any information that doesn’t fit the current political climate.

One thing to consider is the “Out Of Africa” meme. I really don’t care if “everyone” originated in Africa. But the ones that left not only changed the world. They rule it.
