We're our own worst enemy; we trash the candidates for not being conservative enough, or we trash them because of a misspeak, or other minor offense. I remember FReepers trashing Cain and Bachmann with: “They're just not ready for prime-time.” Then these same people bitched about having Romney as the GOP candidate.
I'm sure the good doctor will have a misspeak or some other minor offense that some of the “true Conservative” FReepers will conclude makes him “Just not ready for prime-time.”
You got to give credit to the Dems in one area; THEY NEVER DISOWN OR TRASH THEIR OWN CANDIDATES.

The dems trash their own, it’s just the MSM usually doesn’t report it.
A lot of people assumed that Obama was more vulnerable than he obviously was, but Cain and Bachmann made more than technical errors or slips of the tongue IMO; and Romney got unjustly characterized by some although I am not sure that is the reason he lost.
