Another State About to Fall to the Onrushing Darkness Engulfing America [CT]
Backwoods Engineer Blog ^ | 2 April 2013 | Backwoods Engineer

Connecticut will fall to the onrushing darkness of firearms prohibition, and the rest of America will too, in time.

The prohibition package up for a vote in the Connecticut State Senate April 3 is a doozie: serialization and registration of commonly-available magazines, bans on magazines exceeding a paltry 10-round capacity, and prohibition by name and model of over 100 different guns. Worst of all, full registration of all firearms transfers will be required in CT; this is the Orwellian-named "universal background checks." If you want to know more about this mess, there's better reporting than mine.

There are firearms owners fighting back, but I do not expect them to prevail. Of course, there is already a run on the gun stores ahead of the onrushing darkness.

The fact that there are major gun and accessory manufacturers in Connecticut -- Ammunition Storage, Colt, Stag Arms, Sturm & Ruger, US Firearms, etc.-- seems to matter not a whit to Gov. Molloy or the gaggle of state legislators falling all over themselves to infringe the right to keep and bear arms in their state. It remains to be seen whether any of these companies will leave Connecticut; maybe we'll be surprised, but I don't expect a lot of defections.

As Ol' Backwoods was telling you last month, the tyrants at the federal level know their time is just about up on gun prohibitions, and so the push from Bloomberg's Illegal Mayors is at the state level. Bloomberg's group is having success, too: New York was the first, and Colorado has fallen. Minnesota will likely force full registration of private transfers. Michigan will pass similar laws, but I think their governor will veto them. CT, you know about. I fully expect Illinois to tell the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to shove it on concealed carry, as the union thug Gov. Quinn is already making noises about doing. I also believe Illinois will pass Bloomberg's package of prohibition. California has already done it all, years ago, but will make everything illegal-er, including private sales. New Jersey will likely fall entirely. The media is beating the drum in Pennsylvania to at least force registration of private transfers if not more.

What states are left to us firearms freedom advocates? Well, plenty.

But that doesn't matter. In the end, the darkness will fall everywhere.

Every state is going to be targeted by Bloomberg and his Illegal Mayors, and the various shadow organizations they run. There are enough statist politicians in every state of the union to at least threaten to right to keep and bear arms. Obama, Bloomberg and their minions can fake enough votes, spend enough money, and threaten enough politicians to get done what they want done: the disarming of America.

It's been a good run, but I think the expansion of firearms freedom that was the concealed carry movement is pretty much over. I suspect that concealed carry will begin to be illegal again, state by state.

Bottom line: there is a cold civil war, and the forces of freedom are losing. Big time.

There won't be a hot civil war, because people won't fight back with force. If I am honest with myself, I know I won't go murder cops or ATF thugs or politicians. But they sure as Hell will murder me if I try to resist confiscation. Sure, people will say I am just projecting my cowardice onto everybody, and WOLVERINES! will appear, handsome as Patrick Swayze and hot as Jennifer Gray, and fight back behind enemy lines with weapons stolen from OpFor. I hope so. Dear Lord, I pray so! But I just don't see it happening.

So, does this mean that nobody will have AR-15's, normal-capacity magazines, or Glock 19's? Not at all. It's just that the people that do will be criminalized, and will be locked up or murdered by the powers that be when they are found with these weapons. The whole firearms industry will likely go underground, as the liquor industry did during that Prohibition, with a similar black market pricing structure, similar numbers of government jackboots, and similar loss of life, if not greater.

We gun owners will be pariahs and criminals, just like they are in England, Australia, and much of Europe.

The sad part of this silent war is the young people who've been intentionally indoctrinated by the union-controlled teachers NOT to question authority. The children of today are the victims of tomorrow yet they STILL don't seem to care.

The teachers make the sheep. The government herds them..

Sooner or later, it will be the red states vs the blue states.

In an interesting parallel between CW-II and the first one, the blue states will enter the fray with little or no industry, a sordid philosophy, and will hold a good percentage of their citizens in subservient positions.

Now, after the red states win, do we really want to treat the blue b*stards with forgiveness as did Lincoln?

As it is mostly liberal states enacting these disarm the citizens laws, when the socialist purge comes, as it always does, I suspect that the surviving sections of the country will be staunchly Conservative during that civil war.

There is nothing to forgive! They are to far off the reservation. They all need to move to Canada!

Hell no! Destroy them completely then rebuild as a red State. Remove all liberals and depending on the position and destruction they have caused give up to life imprisoned.

****So, does this mean that nobody will have AR-15’s, normal-capacity magazines, or Glock 19’s? Not at all. It’s just that the people that do will be criminalized, and will be locked up or murdered by the powers that be when they are found with these weapons.****

The states will have to release from prison hundreds of rapists, murderers, robbers, to make room for the citizens caught for having a 12 round magazine for their old pistols.

I disagree - we aren't Brits, or Aussies - as noble as our anglo-cousins are, we are cut from different cloth.

I am nowhere as pessimistic as you are. All of this is based on the MSM being able to convince politicians that there is no price to pay for their perfidy.

At the same time, gun ownership is growing, NRA membership is at an all time high, and the new media is getting out the message moreso than it ever did in 1994.

Obama’s ratings have slipped more because of his support for gun control than for nearly anything else. This does matter, even if he doesn’t have to care about reelection, because all the other Democrats do.

Bloombergs money will make little difference overall. It is only a fraction of what the MSM has been giving for free. It is based on the false idea that the NRA is strong because of money, when it is strong because of grassroots support.

Then there is the possibility of decent rulings from the Supreme Court.

All is not lost. Keep fighting.

No. Hell, NO. The socialists/Marxists must be destroyed like the cancer they are. Re-educate them to the Constitution (for those that are able to be deprogrammed) or deport them to Mexico. A reverse form of illegal immigration, except this time we ENFORCE the U.S.-Mexican border. We handle illegal border crossers like Mexico does with illegal crossers on its southern border with Central America.

A Ct Republican lawmaker bragged that Ct shows America how to do gun control: Pass the income tax with one turncoat Republican vote, buy a permanent Democrat welfare/public union majority, steal the governor’s election by photocopying ballots in Bridgeport and then tear up the Second Amendment. Simple.

All the criminals are listening to the news and reading the papers for the new laws, so they can rush to lay down their illegal guns and comply with the new laws.

Consider removal of Liberal’s voting rights for the rest of their unnatural lives. Cheap, easy to do, and the disenfranchised Liberal can still pay taxes and work.

Hmmnnn - might want to increase taxes on Liberals.

“Reparations’, so to speak.

Or would ‘restitution’ be more accurate?

Next step is confiscate all guns from honest, law-abiding non-violent citizens while deliberately leaving them in the hands of violent criminals.

Of course the true criminals won’t give up their arms; they need them to perpetrate mal in se actions against their victims. But lily-livered sheeple will line up to register and/or turn in their arms, thinking themselves good little citizens for obeying malum prohibitum laws that take away their God-given natural rights. And they will feel good doing it!

You're kidding, right?

CT has many gun manufacturers, and they won't all leave the state. They will try to appease the State Cyclops, thanking it for the privilege of being eaten last.

If and when there is a hot civil war (I don't think so, but for the sake of argument), the blue states will have all the arms they need. They will "nationalize" the arms factories within them, and they will import them from the Communist countries.

They won't have to do that. You think they'd dignify us with a nice jail cell? They'll put us in open camps surrounded by guards and barbed wire so fast it'll make your head spin. It's what the state monopoly of violence is all about: they can do whatever they want.
