The progressive assault on the American way of life continues under Obama and his anti-capitalist cronies. The latest job numbers continues to show their progress in reducing working Americans into full-time serfs of the State, bereft of individual liberty or choice. While the media lapdogs are proclaiming that the recovery is still going strong and that nearly 200,000 jobs were created in July, the real numbers tell a starkly different story.

First, the 200,000 jobs doesn't even keep ahead of population growth. Even some liberal economists (which are a rare species) admit that actual recovery is 350,000 to 500,000 new jobs every month. Plus, these jobs need to be full time-jobs, which most of the newly created jobs are not. This year alone, 77% of the jobs "created" are actually part-time jobs. This death of the full-time job market is having ripple effects across the entire economy as became a nation of temp workers. Ponder this fact to make you realize how dire the situation has become: the average workweek is now only 34 hours. This is anathema to the American character. Europeans and other nationalities have always scoffed at America, saying that we work too hard. Well, the result of our work hard, play hard culture is that America became the single most dominant country in the world, with a lifestyle envied the world over. Heck, the vast majority of our poor would be considered normal in most other countries.

Another aspect of our ruined economy is the unemployment rate, which is artificially propped up. Right now, Obama's administration is touting the unemployment rate at 7.4%, but like most things government says, it is misleading. The rate does not include people who have dropped out of the workforce because they've given up looking for work. If the Labor Participation Rate was the same today as it was back in 2009, the actual unemployment rate would be 10.7%. If you factor in under-employed people, the rate increases to 14.3%.

Now another whammy to the workforce is hammering down: Obamacare. Employers have stopped hiring or have cut hours to get under the 50 person requirement to offer health care or pay a fine. Now the Small Business Administration is telling business owners that part-time workers can be added together (and will be) to count as full time workers. From the SBA website:

"Company X has 40 full-time employees working 40 hours per week, along with 20 part-time employees working 15 hours per week. The 20 part-time employees are counted as 10 full-time equivalent employees. Company X has 50 full-time employees and is subject to the employer shared responsibility provisions."

What does this mean? More layoffs, no hiring, and the closure of thousands of small businesses is foreseeable if Obamacare is not repealed totally. At the very minimum, hours will still be cut and most employees will lose their private health care and have to go on government health care. With the ever-escalating costs of health insurance, small businesses will be forced to pay the fine as opposed to offering health insurance as the costs will be incredibly less to do so.

All of this is deliberately being done. With five years of failed economic policies, any reasonable person would reverse course and try something different. However, Obama and his progressive buddies want nothing more than to reduce the individually free American worker into a ward of the State. We all know that this is not feasible and will eventually collapse, but we conservatives actually live in the real world. Liberal progressives do not.

Damn straight! I know quite a few people who are intentionally cutting back. Sadly, the progressives will just whine about “greedy” people and keep upping the taxes.
