Navy Yard shooting highlights gun control's failure

Armed with a Remington shotgun and two stolen handguns, suspected shooter Aaron Alexis unleashed a barrage of gunfire on innocent people at the Washington Navy Yard on Monday, prompting immediate and knee-jerk cries for gun control and “common sense” reforms to curb gun violence. But the details of this case prove once again the ineffectiveness of gun control.

Wasting no time and taking full advantage of the emotional climate of yet another highly-publicized gun crime, Diane Feinstein asked “When will enough be enough?”, and accused Congress of “shirking its responsibility” of preventing gun violence. White House spokesman James Carney said the president may issue “executive actions” in the aftermath of the tragedy.

But what about the facts?

Facts don’t matter to the liberals. Liberals never let a crisis go to waste.

To me, it seems like these mass shootings are highlighting failures in dealing with mentally deranged people. But, will Obama get out there and talk about mental illness, or will he just talk about guns???

Somebody needs to inform the Kenyan Kommie Manchild that his "executive actions" DO NOT trump the Bill of Rights.

Where's Obama professing this could be his son? Damn government ignored REAL, PRECISE warnings...and his son killed 12 people.

Hasan was a son, too....and was also ignored because he was a muslim...no other reason...a PC thing. We're so lost in pc....

Bill Clintoon issued an order putting a stop to carrying arms on military posts unless there were expected danger of attack.
Notice to mind readers...

Alexis broke half a dozen existing gun control laws on his way to shoot up the Navy Yard. What will passing more laws for criminals to break do to prevent it?

OK, Feinstein & all like-minded idiots: are you willing to pay the taxes needed for everyone in this country to have an armed guard at his disposal if you disarm all citizens? After all, if Congress and celebrities have them, we should ALL have them!

Thanks....Obviously after the Towers were first hit in NYC during the Clinton years, it should have been a call to arms.

Which EO did that? Because on other threads a lot of vets from the 60's and 70's and 80's are pointing out that unless specifically ordered to they were forbidden to carry loaded arms on base during those periods.

WSJ quotes a Reason Magazine letter that says, “Then-President Clinton issued an order in 1993 severely tightening gun restrictions at all Department of the Army installations. The directive said in part, “The authorization to carry firearms will be issued only to qualified personnel when there is a reasonable expectation that life or Department of the Army (DA) assets will be jeopardized if firearms are not carried.” This same rule was adopted by the other services, including the Navy.

This truly is from Through the Looking Glass. HTF can anyone “reasonably expect” an attack before it happens ?

But was it a double barrel like SloJoe recommended or was it a pump or semiauto? (Of course, since a pump and semi both have a tube under the barrel those libtards probably can' tell the difference. Or was it one of those "AR-15 shotguns?")
