There are NO technologies that will meet the proposed requirements. There are a couple of small scale demo projects in the US, but there is NOTHING commercially available that will meet the requirements.
Congress will put a stop to this.
Thanks for keeping your promise to bankrupt the coal fired power plants. I knew we could count on you to continue the decline and fall of the energy industry. Do you think you could push real hard for 30% ethanol so I can ruin my engine sooner.

Congress long ago gave away its authority to make laws so they wouldn’t have to be responsible for the decisions that were made.
Sure. They endlessly debate defunding the EPA to prevent enforcement. Maybe they can even bring it up to a vote 40 or 50 times in the House. Trust me on this. Not worry...Boner is at the helm.

Actually the new EPA limits on electric generation make new coal-fired plants IMPOSSIBLE. Consider:
Coal has a lower heating value of about 12000 Btu/pound.
CO2 from combustion is about 44/12 times the mass of coal combusted.
So, about 3272 Btu/lb of CO2 can possibly be obtained from coal.
However, one kw-h equals 3412 Btu.
This means that the thermodynamic efficiency of steam production and power generation must be 104%.
The laws of thermodynamics make this impossible. Not prohibitively expensive, but impossible.
He promised to ruin the coal industry. He promised to raise taxes, he promised to ruin health care.
He promised to go for gun control.
Told us that we can't keep our thermostats the way we like them, and drive the cars we want, because "The World" doesn't like it.
Said if the winds shift, he'll stand with the Muslims.
