Allen West considering a run against Marco Rubio in 2016
Coach is Right ^ | 10/2/13 | Suzanne Eovaldi

Allen West, beloved Tea Party candidate, is telling D.C. bloggers he’ll take a run at Marco “Speaks With Forked Tongue” Rubio’s Senate seat in 2016. “If I see people are not taking our country down the right path, God will set my feet on the right path,” said the Colonel. (1)

Rubio’s fatal mistake was to coax the Tea Party into backing him–and back him they did, right into the Senate’s front door–and then promptly putting in with old guard, Senate liberals who were playing him for a fool. This mistake just may doom his re-election bid. It’s something you do not do in politics, that is...

Rubio has been mildly disappointing, but I’d pick someone else to run against.

West should run for Nelson’s seat. I’m not sure he’d win, but it would be a statement.

If he runs for Rubio’s seat, he’ll lose but he might undermine Rubio (because West is going to be anti-Hispanic in his confused anti-immigration views) to the point that probably a Dem will win.

I would much rather see him run against the Democrat.

Allen West couldn’t keep his own congressional seat. Now he wants to take on Rubio for the Senate?

Allen West was gerrymandered out of his congressional seat by the GOP establishment.

If Rubio stays in congress, he will continue to morph into a McCain type. ( Not trust worthy and works against the conservative movement, just another democrat with an R as cover) Unseat him now and prevent further damage.

I don’t know. If you go to Marco’s Facebook page his former supporters are telling him time and again they will never vote for him again. Allen West might be able to knock Rubio off. I personally think Rubio screwed the pooch with the Gang of 8 stuff.

Even though Rubio has become severely devalued, I think West is aiming too high on this ambitious goal. Even in Rubio’s tarnished state, he has easy charm, and an expansive knowledge of how things work together. I know Allan West also has a deep understanding of current events, but he does not have Marco’s eloquence or easy charm. Chose somebody easier to dislike, not just distrust.

Charm for the soft skin, but not eloquence. Sorry.

Rubio has actually been very good on everything, except there are some people here who don’t like him on immigration (even though he has always said that he didn’t think one comprehensive bill could deal with it and it had to be broken out into sections). But I think there’s been a lot of surreptitious Dem activity against him, probably including trolls here, because they’re really scared of him.

He’s very smart and an extremely good pro-capitalist, pro-freedom speaker.

I think West - who sometimes goes a little too far in his speech, to the point that the press can make fun of him, which is what cost him is House seat - should go for the Dem Senate seat.

West should move to Texas and take Cornyn out. Texas would welcome him.

I assume that West has already written off the Jewish American Princess vote?

Allen West on Trayvon Martin: ...a young American man has lost his life, seemingly, for no reason.

Allen West on George Zimmerman: The shooter, Mr Zimmerman, should have been held in custody and certainly should not be walking free, still having a concealed weapons carry permit. From my reading, it seems this young man was pursued and there was no probable cause to engage him, certainly not pursue and shoot him.

He was gerrymanded into a purple-ish swing district. That basically sums up Florida. If you’re saying he could only hope to win in a very Republican leaning district, then he has no hope on the state level.
