Obamacare Marketplace: Personal Data Can Be Used For ‘Law Enforcement and Audit Activities’
Weekly Standard ^ | October 8, 2013 | Jeryl Bier

Maryland's Health Connection, the state's Obamacare marketplace, has been plagued by delays in the first days of open enrollment. If users are able to endure long page-loading delays, they are presented with the website's privacy policy, a ubiquitous fine-print feature on websites that often go unread. Nevertheless, users are asked to check off a box that they agree to the terms.

.......Any information that you provide to us in your application will be used only to carry out the functions of Maryland Health Connection. The only exception to this policy is that we may share information provided in your application with the appropriate authorities for law enforcement and audit activities.

Well, maybe it could, if the site would ever work like they want it to.

Don’t you think that if someone, anyone, had a successful experience, we’d hear about it?

I doubt if any of us has any personal data that the govt doesn’t already have.

That’s what I’m saying - there was just one person that reported that he successfully signed up for a policy on the exchange that was affordable and acceptable,

and that guy turned out to be lying.

There is no personal information anymore. Our lives are an open book for the government to use to exploit and control us. Anyone who thinks their health or any other information is private is fooling themselves.

Big Brother is watching.

I cannot fathom how this complies with HIPAA Privacy and Security rules.

What’s the point of PHI if it is routinely available from the gummint?

I suggest no one was able to sign up because if there were people that were able to sign up, you can bet the MSM would be all over them, interviewing them as they had tears in their eyes about how their lives were saved by St Obambi.

That fact that NO ONE is being interviewed means no one has been able to sign up.

IMHO, of course.

It’s compulsory, so how can there be an “agree/disagree” box?

The press is waiting with baited breath for the opportunity to make Obama look good on ObamaCare. If there was ANYTHING good to report they'd be 'flooding the zone' with every reporter they had...

Read World War 2 books on how they conveyed messages. Those tactics are about all that’s left that is truly private.
