I've bought stuff....clothing, backup small appliances, household things, entertainment options (books, DVDs, CDs etc) so I could go quite awhile without having to purchase stuff. One reason is if there's a meltdown. Another is that I wonder if quality things will be available when the economy deteriorates. I don't get so far ahead in food that I have surplus going bad.
I don't think anyone knows what will happen. This has been manipulated for so long that we're far beyond reality.
