I am not surprised by this at all. They have been chanting the same old mantra for years….. It is what I expect from the bishops in America
doesn’t surprise me either. Instead of being religious leaders they stick their nose into politics. So they shouldn’t be surprised when the state sticks their nose in the bishops business. They render unto ceasar that which belongs to God. Their job is Gods work.
The bishops should pay real estate taxes on their church properties and a slew of other taxes.
We’ll see how “compassionate” they are when they’re the ones who have to pay taxes.
