No argument. I was using the vernacular sense. What came to mind in particular was that rotten baloney from Woody Wilson, “Keeping the world safe for democracy,” which has oozed over time into the American subconscious.

Right, exactly. And “republican government” has oozed out. Which is very dangerous, that the people do not realize what type of government they have, and how it developed. And, really it wasn’t their fault, because there was literally no book to turn to or place to go to learn about it. Even the founders had varying definitions of a republic. When I started this thing, I couldn’t describe a republic in very few words. It was this amorphous thing that couldn’t quite be described in detail...until I started to read Adams. So I had to work it out myself, to understand it fully before I could possibly explain it in words.

I hope I’ve done that. I’ll find out. Thanks for the purchase. Let me know what you think!
