There are none of the arguments for same sex marriage that cannot be applied to polygamy. My bet is that within five years polygamy will be legalized in some states just like same sex marriage and like same sex marriage imposed against the will of the people by some unelected federal judge. The flood gates have been opened and marriage can now be defined as anything.
The adorable blonde girl assures us all “We just love each other”. Love in all it’s forms is good, and that makes everything all right. Love, love, love, is all you need.
I think the real reason behind the push for polygamy is so the Muslim men here can bring over many, many wives. And put them all on welfare, of course.

I have been saying this for most of a decade and been told I was crazy, even by other freepers. My gay and polygamous college professor said back in 2001 that after gay marriage the next fight would be polygamy.
And don’t kid yourself, if it becomes legal the LDS church will reinstate it. They only gave it up for statehood (1890 ‘manifesto’ which is not given as a command or revelation) and even then continued to practice quietly until the 1930’s.
Even in my ward (Mormon congregation) in California in the 1980’s we had a woman who was a child polygamous bride from the mainline LDS church.
