We pretty much know the Russians, I mean rebels, did it... those intercepted phone calls to Moscow sound real to me. Not that I speak Russian or anything.

I think you’re on to something here...
Because Vladimir Putin is a hero, and the Savior of Christianity, and all that is good.
Because blaming Putin is blaming a specific known person that they don’t like, and blaming Islamic terrorism is blaming a large number of unknown people. News outlets like specifics, they like to be able to point their finger directly at someone.
The publicly available evidence against Russia and Putin is already quite strong, and US and European intelligence agencies also seem confident of their guilt. It sometimes happens that inconvenient events are as they seem.
It might very well be that Russia and Putin are at the end of the evidence chain, but it just struck me as interesting that the Left is all about assigning blame minutes into this tragedy but whenever there’s an obvious Islamo-fascist attack, we’re told by the media to use caution in assigning blame until all of the facts are in. After all, it might end up being a white, Christian male from Norman, Ok...
If the shoot downs of KAL 007 and Iran Air 655 did not start a world war, this will not start a world war.
The Russian terrorists shooting down a Malaysian plane in the Ukraine and now Israel going full bast ground forces ? .... something is brewing.
You maybe right or correct, but this is in a different age and different politics involved.
The media are embracing the blame on Putin and Russia because they are there and the media needs a distraction from Obama and the border.

Somebody’s proxy. Who actually supplied the weapons is another matter. Any number of big players are capable of getting Russian or any other weapons systems and using them.
When we arm “moderate” terrorists they often get weapons made by a 3rd, 4th, or even 5th party.
